Ecological Footprint:

A concept developed to demonstrate the impact of human activities on the environment.

The Ecological Footprint is a numerical measurement of that impact. It represents the land area necessary to support human activity. The bigger the size of your footprint, the greater impact on the environment. The size of an Ecological Footprint will vary depending on the income or wealth of an area.
