HOW TO ANSWER STRUCTURED EXERCISE?

Identify the keywords in the questions. Keywords sometimes give you some hints on
how to answer.

Example:

Describe = describe the facts only, no explanation
Explain = Account for
Compare
Favourable = good points = benefits = advantages
Unfavourable = bad points = problems = disadvantages = difficulties
Solutions = measures
With reference to case/photo = must refer to the case/photo only
Use map evidence = using grid reference to support examples from maps, e.g. Reclamation is found at 123456.

2. Most answers of HKCEE questions are given in the figures, spend some time to study the
figure before you start answering.

3. Plan the depth of your answers based on the marks assigned for each question.

4. Never have too detail description over 1 particular factor only. Unlike HKAL which
requires in-depth arguments, HKCEE requires a general description only.

5. Support your answers with data/fact given in the figures or with current issues.

For every question in HKCEE, 2 marks are awarded for effective communication. Totally a student can be awarded 6 marks.
