This sperm whale tooth, about 4 inches long, shows some wear on its tip. Whales, like other mammals, have only two sets of teeth during their life. A juvenile set and an adult set. Therefore whale teeth are not as abundant as shark teeth who grow and shed teeth during their entire life cycle.
