I also enjoy Shortwave and Scanner DX'ing. My equipment includes a Kenwood R5000 communications receiver hooked up to a MFJ 959B antenna tuner/preamplifier and a simple 40 foot longwire antenna. I had intended to construct a better antenna eventually but I found that the longwire picks up surprisingly good. I also have two scanners, a Pro 2035 and a Pro 2022 hooked up to a multiband antenna mounted on the roof of my house. These two receive very well with the outside antenna. I sometimes receive from 100's of miles away when the weather is good. I just recently purchased my wife a new computer and I plan to use her old computer to dedicate to using with my R5000 communications receiver. A few programs I am going to be using are: TRUETTY, CWGET,SeaTTY, Smart Kenwood Control 32 as well as some spectrum analyzers, etc. While you're here, check out my friend Tom's page.
