Dark Refrains

Cleansing

The ebony sky was ablaze with magic,
Our shadows wandered over the cool breath of the earth beneath.
They floated mesmerised to where the Sun grows
to burn away all the darkness.
Our black hearts renewed, they glistened
As stardust showered over us.
It was lovely to shine again,
To be who we were meant to be.
We cleaned our jaded spirits
As we bathed in our tears,
Shedding our past over and over.
Then we swam in a carefree sea
With the sunrise glowing rusty
over our shimmering bliss.
