Dark Refrains Georgina Hannah Ormrod

Dark Refrains

Georgina Hannah Ormrod

Your morbid thoughts fall into my world
And fill the empty solidity that used to drive me mad.
You're like a drug and I need you to feel sane.

I am sorry for my selfish ways
of reaching into your head to steal your mind,
But I need your thoughts to feel human.

You're like alcohol, you warm my body as I soak you up.
I am sorry for my selfish ways
of drinking glass after glass,
But I need you to warm cold pains within.

Gothic silence scares me, but you return me from that past.
As the stillness grows colder, you stir it up to warmth
Then explode into a thousand million
butterflies of colours of night time
As you leave the innocent life behind.
