Dark Refrains

Impossible Love Song

In a darkened, shrinking room with only a tunnel to run along,
But not even light can reach its exit.
Sunflowers pave the road ahead, golden and growing,
Wrapping around your ankles to make you stop.
Escape from your soul and be free.

Shiny blue water fills your lungs
And covers your head,
Open your pale eyes and see my wondrous world,
Breathe the scented water and taste my poison fruit.

The sparking desire is glistening in your hair
And flickering from the flames around my feet.
Your image is reflected in the looking glass-
Hands held up to you, but we could never touch.
Escape from your soul and be free.

As you run along the beach
I let my freezing fingers stroke the soles of your feet.
I wish I was the air, then I would be all around you
And in there with the shiney blue water fills your lungs
And covers your head,
Open your pale eyes and see my wondrous world,
Breathe the scented water and taste my poison fruit.

We could be like the sunset - melting into each other.
Brake the looking glass!
Hands held up to it,
I wish that we could touch,
But we can never touch.
