Have you found a Champions GM yet? If not, send me your loner
writeups, with notes on which you would prefer to play, and the
campaign style you would like, and we'll see if we fit. Here's what I
can tell you about my style:

I haven't GM'd in a while (7 years), but once played a fair
bit. Experienced with different systems and genres, including D&D,
Call of Cthulhu, Traveller, several home brew systems. I like
complicated plots, social and character interaction, different
problems which have different solutions (not only "bash the bad guys",
though that is, of course, popular, to be true to the genre :-) ),
some problems which seem insurmountable at first, but yield to hard
work, persistence, and cleverness.

Characters should have interesting personalities - even minor NPCs
will have personalities, less detailed than the main NPCs, and
definitely less so than your PC, but at least one human quirk each. I
expect a good personality, motivation, and history for your character
- not necessarily all at once, it can evolve and develop over the
sessions. I prefer characters with Codes versus Killing or at least
Reluctance to Kill - not Dark Champions style. Similarly, your
character should have a reason to get involved, to be a "good guy."
(this can be a cynical reason, if you prefer - Luke Cage or Booster
Gold does super-hero work for the money - but that means that if he
sees a crime going down, he'll prevent it, because it will be good
publicity). No PC Mortal Kombat/Lobo ("Ive got powers just to be
tough") types. I don't like gratuitous descriptions of sex and
violence - I'm grown up, so your characters can be too, but we'll
generally "draw a curtain" over any scenes which would get a movie
over an R rating. I prefer more human power levels to cosmic
Superman/Silver Surfer power levels. I like deathtraps, so don't be
*too* afraid if your character gets captured. The superhero genre
demands dramatic reversals! I exploit character disadvantages fully,
and will expect you to - any Limitation or Disadvantage points you or
the NPCs have will be earned. Your character will be important in the
game world - I won't have huge super hero and villain teams slugging
it out while you merely watch.

My favorite comic book was Spider-Man, I once collected it from the
beginning through a bit before the clone saga, which I did not
like. My exposure to the official Champions Universe is limited to
what I can glean from the Web - I haven't bought any campaign books.
I like criticism - if you, as the player, not the character, like or
don't like something, please tell me, and I will try to react to that.

I like the World Wide Web - if you don't mind, I'd like to put up
these adventures, and I might even use the Web to show you pictures
and similar game props. No commitments. We'll respond to emails when
we can, but will give warnings if we won't be able to respond for long
periods. If for some reason we can't go on with the game, we'll send
an email, and call it off.

If all that sounds reasonable, send me your loner ideas. I have one
starting scenario ready, that can evolve into a campaign, or that can
end there if your character presents more interesting ideas.
