Split the season, his third in the pro ranks, between Edmonton and the Hamilton Bulldogs - the Oilers AHL affiliate began the season in Hamilton after being assisgned to the AHL on Oct. 7 recalled from Hamilton on Dec. 28 and spent the remainder of the season with the Oilers, scoring 3-2-5 with 57 PIM in 39 games established single season career highs in all categories with the exception of PIM as he fell two minutes shy of his career high of 59 set in 1997-98 during his first 11 games in the NHL played in 25 consecutive games from Feb. 1-Mar. 24 first game of the season came vs Monteal on Dec. 29 scored his first Oilers/NHL career goal on Jan. 7 at Phoenix as he scored twice to set a single-game Career high for goals and points scored the first goal of his career on the Coyotes' Jim Waite at 18:15 of 3rd period with assists to Mats Lindgren and Dean McAmmond his Second goal was an ENG at 19:57 netted his third goal of the season on Mar. 10 at Dallas assisted on Boyd Devereaux's GWG vs Detroit on Jan. 17 for his first Oilers/NHL assist and added his second on Mar. 6 at Washington the assist against the Capitals began a two-game scoring streak as he also scored a goal at
Dallas on Mar.10 to give him 1-1-2 from Mar. 6-10 registered his 100th Oilers/NHL PIM on Feb. 24 vs Anaheim missed a total of eight games due to injury as he was out of the lineup for two games (Jan. 21-27) with a bruised sternum, three games (Mar. 26-30) with a sprained ankle and three games (Apr. 3-9) due to a concussion suffered on Apr. 1 vs Toronto prior to his recall to Edmonton, he scored 6-8-14 with 93 PIM at Hamilton.
1999 Playoffs:
Made his Oilers/NHL Stanley Cup debut in the Western Conference Quarter-Finals vs Dallas played in each of the Oilers four games with the Stars and was scoreless with 2 PIM made his post-season debut in Game 1 (Apr. 21) at Dallas and recorded his first playoff PIM in Game 2 (Apr. 23) at Dallas.
