BARREL PUSH - 2

Object:  To push a barrel through a course of three standing barrels with a hose stream.

The course is set as follows:

A.  Three (3) 55 gallon drums standing 25 feet apart, the first barrel 25 feet from the starting line, and the last barrel 25 feet from the finish line.  The total width of the course will be 40 feet, or 20 feet from the center line.  Hose line will be laid at the boundary to mark the “out of bounds”.

B.   A beer keg will be placed at the starting line, in line with the center of the course and the three barrels.

C.  Team members will assemble behind the starting line in any fashion they choose, with hoseline flaked in any fashion.  Nozzle will be closed and adjusted as needed, and then closed before you start.  Team members may pick-up the hose line prior to start.

At whistle start:

1.   The nozzle will be opened, and the beer keg pushed through the course in a serpentine fashion past each of the three standing barrels.  The team may elect to start on either the left or right of the first barrel, and then must roll the beer keg using ONLY the hose stream past the opposite side of each of the second and third barrel, and then over the finish line.

2.   ONLY THE HOSE STREAM is allowed to touch the beer keg.  If team members  touch the keg a five (5) second penalty will be assessed. This penalty will repeat itself for each time this infraction occurs.

3.     In order for the beer keg to be considered in bounds when it crosses the finish line, any part of the drum MUST break the plane of the finish line in order to be considered in bounds, even though a larger portion of the beer keg may be on the boundary line when it hits the finish line.
