George puts Iced Tea into Microwave
Would you believe that if, on your travels, you might end up at, say,
McDonalds in Times Square, New York City, and ask, in a broad british accent,
"Could I have a nice cup of Tea please" to the chap or chapess behind the
counter, one mightent be served an 'Iced Tea'. Shocking as it may seem, this
is the absolute truth. In fact, this seems to be the norm in the States. Thus
the poor travelling vunerable out-of-sorts englishman may have to stress that
he requires a 'HOT' Tea (please) and then to suffer the barrage of semi-
confusion. Oh dear...
Whats up with the Limey?
Now, this is neither here nor there. It simply shows the great cultural
differences that may occur. But interestingly enough, it does occasionally
bring this debate to mind. I mean, an englishman might argue: What on earth
would one find interesting about a tea gone cold? Oh well... im sure theres
another point of view to this. Im not gonna lose sleep over it. I just think
its time to put the kettle on. Furthermore, I do have a feeling that the
Aardvarks of the
world would probably have a much better angle on this debate. George.
