Kate Bush is the best! Next to David Bowie, she's my favourite artiste. I haven't been a fan of Kate for too long but already I find she has influenced me in my own work, both in musically and in my visual art.

Again, my father is probably largely to blame for my fandom of Kate, as it was about two years ago he called me into the lounge to look at "this really weird" video on VH1 - Wuthering Heights.
Ensuring me I'd like her music, I kept the name in my mind like I had done a year before with the name "David Bowie"...

Not too long after, I picked up the 'Wuthering Heights' 45 at a car boot sale. I got home and played it through, but my record palyer was not much good so I didn't really think that much of it. However, on listening to the B-side ('Kite') I thought maybe I should try out more Bush and ended up buying "The Whole Story" for £6 in Manchester. At the time, I wasn't too entusiastic to get "The Whole Story" because I felt I didn't really belong to the "Kate" scene, but on listening to "Wuthering Heights" right through to Breathing, I realised maybe things would go a little furthur!
My first Kate studio album was "The Kick Inside" which I thought was absolutely mind blowing! I'm afraid to sayI was rather bitter about the fact that she wrote "The Man With The Child in his Eyes" at 14 because I was by this time I was 15, and hadn't written a single song, ever! Let alone a massively good one like that!

After finding how much I loved "Kick" I procured a copy of "The Dreaming", simply because I liked the album cover and the title track I'd already heard on "The Whole Story". Full of great vocals and funky quirks, "TheDreaming" is still my favourite Kate album to this day! It's absolutely crackers and I'd strongly advise it to any neo-fan!

After "The Dreaming", the rest of the studio albums followed thick and fast, slowly integrating with my 110 David Bowie CDs! This was mostly due to my wonderful cherie, Peter. We bought a shared copy of "Hounds of Love" in London and for my 16th birthday he gave me "Never for Ever" and "The Sensual World".
The wonderful "Lionheart" and "Red Shoes" followed that Christmas. Thankyou so much Pierre!!! x  x  x  KISSES!!!  :-)
