"I'm really glad that most of our songs were about love, peace and understanding."
-Paul McCartney
My favorite Beatle before I switched to George, Paul's always been known as the "Cute Beatle" (and I can certainly vouch for that! ;) )  He was the second member to join the band, as the bassist. Both with and without John Lennon (though they're always credited as co-authors) Paul McCartney wrote some of the greatest songs in rock history; Among many, many others, he wrote "Can't Buy Me Love," "Eleanor Rigby," "Penny Lane," and the timeless ballad, "Let It Be."
The most commerically successful Beatle after the breakup, Paul turned out classics like "Jet," "Mull of Kintyre" and "Band on the Run" (to name a select few) with his new band Wings.
Today, Paul's still recording and touring (I saw him in concert in '02!!), and still bringing joy to Beatles fans around the world.
"I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity, to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that."
"Somebody said to me, 'But the Beatles were anti-materialistic.' That's a huge myth. John and I literally used to sit down and say, "Now, let's write a swimming pool."
"I am alive and well and unconcerned about the rumors of my death. But if I were dead, I would be the last to know."
