Car journey to Manor Cottage via the M4 and Bath.
Exit the M4 at junction 18, and take the A46 south towards Bath, about 10 miles. Take the Bath exit off the A46 and follow signposts towards the city centre. Approx 1 mile after leaving the A46 you should come to a large signalled junction called Cleveland Place. From here take the A36 south towards Warminster, Frome and Westbury (away from city centre - if you go past lots of shops or see the royal crescent you have gone too far!).
After about 5 miles, you will pass a set of traffic lights and go over a large viaduct. Continue along the A36 up a steep hill and you will see the Rose and Crown pub on your left. The Freshford village turning is about 150 metres further ahead, again on your left. Turn into this small street, called Church Lane, and drive on past Limpley Stoke Church and down the valley in the village of Freshford (about 1.5m miles from the A36).
Continue straight on, through Freshford on the High Street and past a large primary school on your right. The road then curves sharply around to the left. Keep on following this road and you will see a modern BT telephone box in front of you. As you approach the modern phonebox, take the lane to your left, Church Hill. Manor Cottage is the third house on the left, opposite the church.
If you get lost, just call our home number (note some mobiles do not work in the village - particularly Orange...)
