SCHLUMBERGER RESISTIVITY SOUNDING INTERPRETATION

USING GRAPHICAL INVERSION

 By :

Eddy Hartantyo

A modification of Graphical iterative method for Schlumberger sounding interpretation has been made. It based on shift procedure both depth and resistivity. The modifications are treated in the data input segmentation (8 segments per decade), the resistivity shift step and the depth compressing of the interpretation model.

This method does not want an initial guess of layer parameter (i.e. number of layers, their thicknesses and resistivity values) and not require an extrapolation from the middle or the end of incomplete curve. Data input should be on 8 segment per decade. Interpretation requires two stages enough for noisy data. Compressing  interpretation will be better for high resistivity contras than the normal one. The application of this method have been illustrated by several examples both synthetics and field curves with less than 1 % error between input and interpretation's data.
