in 1993 in Montreal. My dear friend Anna Biro and
her tapestry were my inspirations.

'Maryshka'
chair
(wood & painted leather)
This eclectic chair was inspired by orthodox churches and Art
Nouveau. The top golden oval pieces are an allusion to the Ukrainian
church copulas.
Maryshka is made out of stained maple and patchwork leather.

Theodora'
chair
(painted wood)
Once a courtesan, later the wife of Emperor Justinian, Theodora
was an extraordinary person born to shine in any station of life.
The painting on the chair's back is a replica of the mosaic from
St. Vitale church in Ravenna.
