BOSS STRATEGY: Final Fantasy 4
Bosses are evil. Face it people, it's their job. Of course, if you've battled them before they usually never win. But in case you were having trouble, here I am. Me, geronimo. The person who has played FF4 so much that it's not only not funny, but depressing as well. BOSS TIME!
BOSS 1:
D.Mist (Dragon Mist)
PARTY: Cecil, Kain.
This one is super-easy, folks. Have Cecil Fight and Kain Jump/Fight. Stop fighting when the Dragon turns into Mist. Otherwise it counterattacks with ColdMist. It usually can only change to mist about 2 times before you kill it.
BOSS 2:
Officer, Fighter, Fighter
PARTY: Cecil
Okay, it has Boss MUSIC, but can hardly be counted as a boss. These guys take about two hits. One to each soldier. Then the leader escapes. They always do...
BOSS 3:
Octomamm
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Rydia
Make sure Rydia has learned up to at LEAST Lit1. Have Rydia and Tellah cast Lit1, and Cecil use Fight. Occasionally cure Rydia if she's close to dying.
BOSS 4:
Antlion
PARTY: Cecil, Edward, Rydia
A word of advice for this battle: Have Edward cure everyone FREQUENTLY. He and Rydia are very weak, and die easily. Have Cecil Fight as usual, have Edward cure and make Rydia summon Chocobo. Trust me, it's a lot easier with Chocobo...
BOSS 5:
MomBomb
PARTY: Cecil, Rosa, Yang, Edward, Rydia
Congrats! It's the first boss fought with a full party! Okay, Cecil fights. He always does. Have Yang fight too, maybe *maybe* Kick sometimes. Kick isn't very good though. Make Rosa cure, and have Edward and Rydia cure and fight. This battle shouldn't last very long.
BOSS 6:
War At Fabul
PARTY: Cecil, Yang, Edward
Okay, okay. This isn't a boss at all. However, you can only cure in battle and you don't have Rosa or Rydia. The enemies come in a constant onslaught, but they are really easy monsters. This should be easy, even for Edward.
BOSS 7:
Milon, and undead monsters
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Palom, Porom
It's been a while since your last boss, and you have some fresh faces in your party. I recommend training Palom and Porom until they learn Cure2 and Fire2. It doesn't take long, and it's worth it. Have Porom either cure or use Twin, and have Palom cast Fire2 or use Twin. Tellah isn't good for much, but have him use Fire1 and cure anyway. Cecil should fight Milon only. SAVE right after beating him, don't even cross the bridge.
BOSS 8:
Milon Z.
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Palom, Porom
Make sure you are stocked up on Heal Potions, because this boss can poison you. Milon has the Fiend Boss music, so you know he's harder than anything before him. Have the twins use Twin a lot, have Tellah use heal and Fire1, and make Cecil Fight. Milon is weak to fire, keep that in mind.
BOSS 9:
Yang
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Palom, Porom
Another sort-of boss. Just attack yang for a while and he will say, Ouch. Then he falls over and joins you.
BOSS 10:
Baigan
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Palom, Porom, Yang
Baigan is tricky. You must kill his parts (3) in this order: arm, body, arm. Or else he will revive a body part. First have Cecil and Yang kill the arm. Then have Tellah cast a powerful (Lit3, Ice3, or Fire3) spell on the body. Then, Baigan will cast Wall on his body. Continue to have Cecil and Yang fight, while Porom cures. BUT--have Tellah cast Wall on Yang. Then on his next turn, have Tellah cast a powerful spell on YANG. If you do it fast enough, it will reflect off Yang and hit Baigan despite his wall. Continue this strategy with caution. After Baigan, rest in Cecil's room and SAVE in the underwater pass.
BOSS 11:
Kainazzo
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Palom, Porom, Yang
Kainazzo shouldn't be a boss, let alone a Fiend. He is undoubtably the easiest boss in the game. Just have Tellah cast Lit3, and Palom cast Lit2. He will die instantly.
BOSS 12:
Dark Elf
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid
The first time you go to fight him, don't even try to win. he will kill you automatically. Then, Edward's song will subdue him and his magnetic field. Make sure you re-equip your swords and metallic armors. Then, have Cecil and Yang and Cid Fight, and have Tellah cast spells, though they seem somewhat ineffective. After he changes form, cast Weak on him and fight a lot. He should die soon after.
BOSS 13:
Magus Sisters; Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy
PARTY: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid
Make sure you've collected the treasure in the Tower of Zot; it's the last time you'll have a chance. Here's the thing. Sandy (the tall one) casts wall on Cindy (the fat one) so Mindy (the small one) can cast a spell and hit you with it. Have Yang, Cecil and Cid attack Cindy nonstop. Tellah should use Fire3 about twice on Sandy and she will die. Eventually they revive her, if they do kill her again. Once the fat one is dead, kill Sandy again if she is there, then bash Mindy until she dies. make sure to save and unequip Tellah after the battle, Rosa can use his stuff and it's the last you'll see him--ever.
BOSS 14:
Valvalis
PARTY: Cecil, Rosa, Cid, Kain, Yang
Make absolutely sure that as soon as Rosa joins you equip her properly. Then if you move, Valvalis will attack. Make Kain Jump--this is the only way to win-- whenever she spins her hair around herself. Have Cecil, Yang, and Cid Fight. Rosa should cure and heal those who Valvalis uses Ray on. if you play your cards right Cecil Yang and Cid should be attacking when she's not in her spin. After a bit, she dies. That's 3 Fiends down.
BOSS 15:
Calbrena
PARTY: Cecil, Kain, Yang, Rosa
This is high up on my Most Hated Boss list. There are six dolls, three easy and three semi-hard. This is a rare event, but sometimes---only sometimes-- you can beat the dolls individually. But usually, it turns into Calbrena. Calbrena annoyingly confuses your party members and attacks swiftly. Have Kain Jump, Cecil and Yang should Fight, and Rosa should fight or Cure. If you hit her a lot, she should die, but boy, is she bitchy ;)
BOSS 16:
Golbez
PARTY: Cecil, Rosa, Yang, Kain, and ....Rydia?!
The battle opens with Golbez gloating as usual. There's nothing you can do, so watch as he summons Shadow Dragon. Shdaow will kill off all characters but Cecil, and he will be mysteriously healed. Rydia will then enter and the real battle will begin. The next moments are crucial. You MUST Life all your people if you hope to win. After you've Revived everyone and cured them up, hit Golbez with all yyou've got and he should give up pretty easily.
HERE IS WHERE YOU MUST MAKE A CRUCIAL CHOICE!!!! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT A BOSS LATER CALLED EVILWALL, ONE OF THE HARDEST BOSSES IN THE GAME, THEN DO THIS CHEAT. IF YOU DO WANT TO FIGHT HIM, IGNORE THIS. OKAY, once you have exited the Crystal Room, do not move!!! Have Rydia cast Warp. By some glitch, you will appear in the Crystal Room---and the Crystal is still there!! Take it, and you won't have to fight EvilWall.
BOSS 17:
Dr. Lugae, Balnab
PARTY: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Kain, Yang
Dr. Lugae is a big stupid-head. So is his robot Balnab. Have everyone except Rosa and Rydia Fight/Jump. Rydia should summon Titan a lot. Dr. Lugae will change forms a lot, but he is basically a mellow boss, and very easy.
BOSS 18:
King and Queen Eblan
PARTY: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, Edge
Dr. Lugae changed Edge's parents into monsters, and now Edge is mad. But don't worry, it's another sort-of boss. Just fight them with whatever you have until they become conscious. They're as good as beat, after they talk to Edge.
BOSS 19:
Rubicant
PARTY: Same as above
Cecil and Kain should by now have ice-based weapons. Use them. Have Edge cast Flood, Rosa attack and cure, and have Rydia summon Shiva. Make her start casting when the cape is closed, but make sure the cape is open when she summons it. Keep hitting him with ice and he will be beaten.
HERE IS WHERE IT GETS A BIT OPTIONAL. I SUGGEST GAINING LEVELS UNTIL ROSA LEARNS UP TO FLOAT AND WALL. THEN, EXPLORE SYLVAN CAVE AND THE LAND OF SUMMONED MONSTERS.
BOSS 20:
Asura (optional)
PARTY:Cecil, Rosa, Kain, Edge, Rydia
The key to winning is Rosa. Have her cast Wall on Asura. Then, all of Asura's massive healing powers are directed at you. Have Edge Fight or use Blitz. Kain should Jump, Cecil should fight, and Rydia should use powerful summons. Rosa should attack and cure.
BOSS 21:
Leviathan (optional)
PARTY:Cecil, Kain, Edge, Rosa, Rydia
Watch out for Big Wave, and cure often. make Kain Jump, have Cecil attack, and have Edge Dart Shurikens or use Blitz. Levithan's weakness is lightning so make Rydia summon Indra often. If you fight hard you will win eventually.
BOSS 22:
EvilWall (semi-optional)
PARTY:Cecil, Kain, Edge, Rosa, Rydia
NOTE:Fight this boss only if you have Leviathan, otherwise it is nearly impossible. It is STILL nearly impossible.
Use every freaking thing you have on this boss. If you don't beat him in time, he will kill everybody. Summon Leviathan often. If you did the cheat, kain will betray you at the cave entrance and there will be no need to go into the cave at all.
BOSS 23:
Elements
PARTY:Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia, FuSoYa
Now you have to fight all the fiends at once. First Milon, then Rubicant, Kainazzo, then Valvalis.
Milon: Cast Fire spells like Nuke and Flame, and attack quickly.
Rubicant: Use Ice attacks.
Kainazzo: use Lit attacks
Valvalis: Use anything you've got, and watch out for Storm!
BOSS 24:
CPU, Attacker, Defender
PARTY:Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia, FuSoYa
Kill the Defender first. Then use frequently summons on the CPU. Be careful of Globe199, it kills in one hit. You could try the Wall trick you used on Baigan, but it's risky. Kill off the CPU and you've won!
FROM HERE, TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE LUNAR SUBTERRANE AND COLLECT THE LAST WEAPONS. YOU SHOULD ALSO FIGHT ODIN AND BAHAMUT. ONCE YOU'RE READY....
BOSS 25: FINAL BOSS:
ZEMUS
ZEROMUS
PARTY:Cecil, Kain, Edge, Rosa, Rydia
First off, have cecil use the Crystal. Zeromus will become his final form. Then, have Cecil constantly attack. Kain should always Jump. Edge should Dart all you have and then Fight. Rosa should cast Cure4 a lot. Rydia should summon Bahamut and/or cast Meteo if you know it. Keep on truckin' and take out that evil monster! You can do it!!
