Helios Airlines' smart Boeing 737-800 takes most of Glasgow's 8700 feet runway to get airborne for Cyprus on a warm Saturday morning in May 2001
Why are there photographers and sound men standing on the grass beside this landing 757 in British Airways old colours? Its because its the first day of service for the 757 - 11th of February 1983, if my memory serves me correctly - and they are filming it for the evening news! There were other cameramen too - but sadly, they were set up in the wrong place! I know how they felt - i'd usually be set up there too!
