next day's entry

Cairo...8:47PM

I just got back from the pyramids of Saqarra.  It was pretty cool.  The oldest pyramid (Zoser) is there.

I got a picture on a camel there and then as I walked past the causeway of Unas, a local "tourguide" starts following me.  He shows me a couple of artifacts.  But before that, he was harassing me for baksheesh.  He told me an area, that I was approaching was off limits.  He started grabbing my arm and I freaked on him.  I told him to get his hands off me.  The security guard came over and started apologizing for Egypt.  The guide then took me to the dig area where artifacts were covered.

I got some great shots of sarcophoguses (sic) and other artifacts.

Also, went to Ti temple and took some pictures.  My driver Ehab came along.  He helped me get some photos.  He also became a tourist with me also.

Earlier this morning, Lorra took me to breakfast at Lucilles, which was good.  Perhaps I shouldn't have ordered the chicken fried beef as I thought they that meant I wanted a steak instead of fried chicken.  I wanted steak and eggs, but they gave me chicken fried steak, which was a battered steak.  The eggs were good though.

Lorra then took me to her work in Maadi.  The UNDP office.  It's nice.

Then, I went to the supermarket and found some food and film.  Then I found Ehab, who took me to Saqarra.  Good day!!!

Tonight, Marcy's taking me to the rugby club for a dart party.  Should be a lot of ex-pats there?
