Welcome to my website about technical analysis. In the period October 1998 until January 2003 I wrote a PhD thesis on this topic at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Faculty of Economics and Econometrics (FEE), Department of Quantitative Economics (QE), Subdepartment Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance (CeNDEF). The title of my dissertation is not surprisingly "Technical Analysis in Financial Markets". I successfully defended my dissertation in public at March 3, 2003. This occurred in "De Oude Lutherse Kerk", a wonderfull old former church (1633) in the center of Amsterdam. My thesis supervisors were Prof. Dr. C.H. Hommes and Prof. Dr. H.P. Boswijk. The members of the dissertation defense committee were Dr. J.J. van Duijn, Prof. Dr. P.H.B.F. Franses, Prof. Dr. F.C.J.M. de Jong, Prof Dr. B. LeBaron (yes, the coauthor in the famous "Brock, Lakonishok and LeBaron (1992)" paper), Dr. ir. F.O.O.Wagener and Prof. Dr. H.N. Weddepohl.

This website is entirely devoted to my PhD research. You can find my dissertation over here, but also all the data I used in doing my research. Especially the long reference list of technical analysis papers is interesting. You can use and download it all for free.
