From this page you can access the other Troupsburg pages of information. Just click on the item and you will go to that page of information. This page is still under construction so some of the links will not work yet. Please hang in there and come back soon. I have began page building again and hope to have it completed soon. Thanks ! What is copyrightable? Some like to argue that genealogy is just facts, and facts can not be copyrighted or that the information came from public records and therefore can not be copyrighted. It is true that original public records in the U.S. cannot be copyrighted, but a compilation of them can be. The law recognizes the right of transcribers and compilers to be compensated and have their work protected. If you don't think this is work, transcribe some records or decipher some census records or other hand written material. Accumulated genealogical information, to the extent that it is an expression, can be protected by copyright, but the actual facts in the information cannot be protected. The information I have compiled here is therefore protected and I do hereby exercise that right. All Rights are reserved and this material can not be reproduced in any manner without my written consent. George E. Sawyer.

Town of Troupsburg Write up from Steuben County Gazetteer printed in 1891. I retyped this as it included biographical sketchs of many early settlers.

I would like to take this space to thank the Steuben County Historians office for all their help. I obtained a great deal of information for these pages from their office when it was located on Pulteney Square in Bath, New York. They have now moved so that they are near the new Bath Public Library known as the Dorman Library. Without their kind help it would have taken me much longer to do what I have done on these pages. THANK YOU Dick and Marion!

Sincerely,

George E. Sawyer
