Trick Tips

!!!If you do not feel comfortable on your board
and cannot comfortably go off good sized jumps
then do not try these tricks!!!

Backside 360

The key to back side 360's is the take off.  Mainly how you pop off
the lip of the jump.  First, find a good sized jump and ride up on your
toe edge.  Right as you are about to leave the lip, crouch down, then as
you ollie off the jump explode out of your crouch while quickly twist towards
a backside spin. Second, while in the air keep looking over the shoulder
that is leading the spin. Bring you legs up so you are crouched again.  Third,
as you are about to land be sure that you lower your legs and be ready to
absorb the impact.  The first time I did one, I didn't lower my legs and
landed with my knees in my face.

Don't forget to to...
-Explode off the lip
-Look over your shoulder as you spin
-Crouch in the air
-Absorb the landing
GOOD LUCK!

Backside 540

Backside 540's are tough.  Not necessarily hard to spin but to land.  You have
to concentrate hard while in the air to keep you self from catching a heel side
edge during your last 180.  First read the tips on the Backside 360.  Follow those
except for two things, find a bigger jump and have more speed.  Now you'll be rotating
around all crouched up and you will see the landing for a 360. Stay crouched.  As you
rotate the last 180 lower your legs at 450 degrees.  Now to land this you will want to
twist you legs around to line up with the landing.  You will not be able to see the landing!
When the board hits snow.  Set it in there and then twist your body around. The fist time I
tried it I didn't twist my legs so I caught my heel side edge and ate it.

So be sure to...
-Spin harder
-Go bigger
-Twist your legs around for the final 90 degrees
-Set your board in the snow before untwisting
GOOD LUCK!

Front Flip

You want to try the front flip in powder first.  Ok, come up to the jump all extended out.
Now put your arms in the air and as you leave the lip do these things.   Ollie forward
and kind of roll over the nose of your board.  At the same time you want to be throwing
your arms forward and down and curling your body over.  When you get in the air scrunch up
into a ball and stay tight like that.  As you come around extend to slow the rotation and lower
your legs to land.  You will need to really concentrate to land it.  A good way to practice is get
on a trampoline or to just jump off a rock into deep powder and do flips off it, it will help
you get the feel for it.

Remember to...
-Throw your arms
-Roll over your nose
-Stay small in the air
-Lower your legs to stop rotating
-Practice before trying

Front Side 360

The front side 3 is a relatively hard trick because its tough to finish out a spin going
blind.  To start crouch really tight and ride up a little on your toe side edge.  As you
approach the lip wind your body back towards your tail and get ready to explode.
Now twist front side and explode out digging in your toe side edge for power.  Now
when you leave the lip your legs will be back really far begin your body so you will want
to twist your legs to catch them up with your body.  Its going to take a lot of practice to get
around the whole 360 but the landing is also tough.  You will come in blind so be sure to lead
with your head so you can see you landing.  Extend your body out of the usual spinning
crouch and slick your legs down to the snow.  Watch videos and see how the guys spin
front side to see really good examples.

Remind yourself before jumping to...
-Lead with your head
-Twist your body
-Bring your legs up with your body
-Spot your landing
-Stay relaxed in the air
