My life is around me.
Silence, emptyness.
only the tick of the clock.
To keep me company.
Gone is the sound of children.
The sound of laughter,
and playful banter.
I have the memories tucked away.
Trophies, plaques, graduation gowns.
An old retainer, baby shoes, first writings,
Photo's to mark the passing of time.
Tight sticky hugs and wet kisses.
Yes, there is silence,
But I am not alone.
I have each of you in my heart.
I will always have the hugs,
the kisses and the "I love you"s.
As it is with children they must grow up and have a family and life of
thier own. But they always return, if not physically,spirtually. The love
that a parent and child share is the strongest love there is. I only hope
that they have the same kind of love they have given to me.
