Jonel Linder's education

Home

My education through out my life consists of completing Elementary school in McClusky and then going onto graduating High school in 2001. While I was in High School I took a few extra classed that I though would be helpful in my life. Those classes where Cisco Networking and shop classes. While I was taking shop class I learned how to weld and carpentry work. A few of the projects that I was doing in shop class was rebuilding a lawn mower engine and the creation of a Dune Buggy. The Dune Buggy never really got off the ground. However I did successfully rebuild the lawn mower engine. Of course I beefed it up a tad bit. I was told that the black marks are still on the shop floor. After I received my High School diploma I set off for boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. This started my third round of education in my life. I learned all bout how to be a sailor in the United States Navy. This training included Basic Military training, so I learned how to shoot a nine millimeter pistol and a shot gun. I also learned about the different navy terms. An example is a Bulkhead a Bulkhead is the equivalent to a wall. During the process of Boot Camp attention to detail was instilled into me. My boots have never been so shinny. Among other things was learning how to save myself in the event that the ship may sink. After completing Boot Camp I was then shipped across the road to Common core training to be a Fireman. This training was about the generalization of mechanics on board a ship. After completing 3 weeks of training there I was shipped off to my first command. On board my first command I had more in depth training in the Auxiliary department. I then achieved the required training to be an operator for the Distillation, HPAC, LPAC, Refrigeration, Steering, and oil/water separation plants. I was also chosen to be sent to Coronado California so I could rebuild and overhaul Cummins Diesel engines. When I returned home I was to find out that I could not advance as an Engineman as I had hoped for. I then was sent over to the Electrician mates while in that department I was taught of electricity works. After the war over in the Persian Gulf with Iraq I was told that I could not advance in rank as an EM as well. I then studied and took the exam for Operations Specialist and was frocked as an OS3. While being in the rate I learned how to navigate a ship, how to operate different radars, and also how communications work. After my tour in the Navy I am now going to College here at Aakers. I am now currently working towards my associates in Business Management and Web Design. The future is uncertain for me; my life has always had many twists and turns. I just may become a psychologist.
