July Photos. HOME
Todays walk (12/07/01) saw us set off from the slate quarry at Honister Hause (after disinfecting of course!) and taking in Grey Knotts, Brandreth, Green Gable, Great Gable and a short diversion across to Kirk Fell, returning to Honister Hause via the drum house path.
Shaun and Graham on Brandreth.
Approaching the summit of Green Gable.
A plaque to the memory of members of the Fell and Rock Climbing Club who perished in the first world war. A service is held at the summit of Great Gable on Remembrance Sunday each year.
Looking across to Kirk Fell from Great gable.
Graham and Karl at the summit cairn on Kirk Fell.
Looking across to Great Gable from Kirk Fell, Karl says it is "sugar bun shaped!!!", if you can figure that out let me know !.
The three amigo's admiring the view.
One of the loco's that used to work the quarry.
Time to clean the boots again after another good day out on the fells.
