November Photo's | HOME | ||||||||
Todays walk 27th November saw us out and about in the rain for most of the trip, we left Rosthwaite and headed for "New bridge" over the river Derwent. It must have been raining heavily for quite a spell as the river was flowing very fast and most of the footpaths and tracks were under water ( a lot of it in places !), at one point we simply ran through and hoped for the best, a bit of water got in the boots but no-one tripped and fell (which would have been funny ). After a few detours we arrived at the summit of Castle Crag, a nice little top in my opinion and well worth the visit. Leaving here we headed down the valley toward Grange, crossed the bridge and started to make our way up to Kings How where we got a great view of the valley. From here its a short stroll to Grange Fell, then on to Great Crag, finally descending via Lingy End to follow Stonethwaite Beck into Rosthwaite. | |||||||||
