Gerard F. Corbett
Gerard F. Corbett is CEO of Redphlag LLC, a strategic management consulting firm. Previously he was Vice President of Hitachi America, Ltd. responsible for the Branding and Corporate Communications Group from June 1995 to November 2007.  He had overall responsibility for North America branding and integrated corporate, marketing and internet communications for the Hitachi brand and Hitachi America, the North America headquarters of $112 billion Hitachi, Ltd., the world's leading electronics company and the 23rd largest corporation in the world.

Prior to joining Hitachi in 1995, Mr. Corbett was vice president of corporate communications for Loral Corporation, a U.S.-based defense electronics company.  He had worldwide responsibility for corporate, public and investor relations, advertising and marketing communications, and crisis and employee communications.  From 1989 to 1994, he was director of corporate communications for ASARCO Incorporated, a diversified, vertically integrated nonferrous metals producer.  He was responsible for investor communications, advertising, employee communications, speechwriting, media relations, and community, crisis and environmental communications.  He also provided public relations services for international mining investments in South America and Australia, including Peru?s largest copper producer, Southern Peru Copper Company.

From 1982 to 1989, Mr. Corbett was director of corporate communications and public relations for Gould Inc., a diversified electronics company, which was sold to Japan Energy in 1988.  He had worldwide responsibility for corporate relations and public relations.  Prior to Gould, he was manager of technology and executive communications for the former International Harvester Company, now known as Navistar International.  He had responsibility for technology, employee and executive communications.  He previously served from 1979 to 1981 as a senior account executive and program manager for the public relations firm of Creamer Dickson Basford in Providence, Rhode Island, where he handled a number of technology and industrial accounts.

Mr. Corbett also served as a senior technical and software writer for Four Phase Systems, Inc. (now Motorola Computer Products), and National Semiconductor Corporation, and a scientific programmer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in Mountain View, Calif.

A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Corbett has a bachelors of arts degree in public relations from San Jose State University, San Jose, California, and an associates of arts degree with a major in electronics engineering from the Community College of Philadelphia.

Mr. Corbett is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, an accredited member, member of the board and Fellow of the Public Relations Society of America and past president and a member of the board of the West Coast Chapter of the International Advertising Association, and a member of the Senior Roundtable of the National Association of Science Writers, National Investor Relations Institute and a member of the Arthur Page Society, and New York PR Society.  He was named InsidePR Magazine - Public Relations All Star in 1993 for his leadership role on behalf of the nonferrous metals producers of North America.  He is listed in Marquis Who's Who In America. In The World, In Finance & Industry, Emerging Leaders in America, In Advertising, and In Science and Engineering.   He also is a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, the National Journalism Honor Society and has been recognized by the National Association of Investors Corp., for Best of Industry Award, for financial publications.
