The Gurley Fire Department is operated by a nucleus of 30 men and women, with seven (7) EMTs out of three (3) stations within the city of Gurley. The department is under the leadership of Chief Freddy Little and Deputy Chief Anthony Stone. Gurley's ISO rating is 5 out of 10.

Our main station, Station #1, is located at 235 Walker Street. Gurley is located in Northeast Alabama, approximately 15 miles east of Huntsville, Alabama.

Gurley provides services to a population of 4,285 with a large amount of commercial and industrial businesses within a 47 square mile radius. The terrain we cover varies from valley farmland to mountainous areas.

A major highway and railroad runs through Gurley. These include US Highway 72 E and Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Gurley backs up six (6) departments in Madison County and three (3) departments in neighboring Jackson County.

Business meetings are held on the first Monday of every month; training meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 PM at Station #1.
