Capabilities:

Like so many who grew up on, or came to, Solaris VII, Miranda Chadsey dreamt of   becoming Mechwarrior and, eventually, the Grand Champion of the Game World. Unlike   so many, she actually got to live part of her dream, even if it were a short time. Miranda grew up in the Reaches of Solaris City spending most of her adolescence at her father’s side in his workshop learning what she could. Though only a technician her father knew the game and what would work and what would not. Her dream came to life under her father’s tutelage, even though he feared for her life.

At the earliest opportunity, Miranda entered an apprenticeship and suffered through the hazing of experienced warriors and fellow apprentices and the often harsh instructors. She managed to get through all this and land a contract with one of the smaller stables in the Reaches. After nearly ten years of fighting her way through many tough battles, she thought she had her chance at the Grand tournament. That’s when the Clanners showed up and started muscling their way into running the stables. After her stable owner took on a former Steel Viper named Taunus, her rising star began to fall as he got all the matches that would have fallen to her. It came to head when Taunus challenged her to a ‘Trial of Position’ as lead warrior in the stable. In the ensuing fight, Taunus wasted little time in taking her Crusader large bit by large bit. The fight, and her dream, ended when her automatic ejection system launched her from her ‘Mech just before her fusion reactor went critical.

With her dream dead, Miranda decided that, for now, she had had enough of the Arena life and would pursue a career as mercenary. Eventually she would sign on with the DropShip Irregulars, a unit newly arrived to the world and looking for experienced Mechwarriors to pilot some of its empty ‘Mechs. Assigned to a Stalker she would spend the next ten years taking part in various raids, including the one on Acamar, where the Irregulars rescued Dr. Rick Raisley. It was there she lost her Stalker and was only able to salvage the ‘Mechs reactor and some minor equipment.

As part of the payment for the rescue of Dr. Raisley, the Irregulars received a number of salvaged ‘Mechs, which included a Gunslinger with no engine and it’s left arm missing. Miranda, along with the unit’s Techs, raided the Irregular spare parts bin and quickly had the Gunslinger refitted to her style of combat, close quarters. The Gunslinger’s array of   medium lasers are now mounted in the left arm. Replacing the medium lasers in the torsos are a pair of Streak SRM-6 launchers, while the pulse lasers were moved to the center torso after moving the active probe to the left torso. With the addition of her Stalker’s old 255 powerplant, the Gunslinger was now the newest addition to the DropShip Irregulars.
