Hi All,
Is today some kind of holiday that I don’t know about?  If it is can somebody tell.
Thanks,
Dain

Dain,
Not that I know of, but apparently today (Wed) is the 33rd anniversary of the White album!
Anne

Dear Anne,
What in the world are you talking about.  I mean, sure, I make no sense but this breaks the barrier of confusion and insanity.  What is the White Album?  It would help me a lot if you told me seeing how I’m already confused enough.
Your VERY Confused Friend,
Dain

Dain, you have to be as old as a teacher, at least, to understand!  Or else an avid fan of The Beatles.  In 1967, the Beatles released a record album which everyone refers to as the ‘white album’ because of its all white cover.  I couldn’t understand your reference to a holiday.  What made you think it was a holiday?
Anne

Response to Anne and Dain’s Conversation:

I wasn’t personally on this earth myself when the White Album was released but I certainly know about it and love it.  I imagine that some of my siblings, who are teenagers, wouldn’t have known, just as they didn’t really know much about Pierre Elliott Trudeau.  Then again, I couldn’t roll the names of three trance groups off of my tongue either (although I might do better with rap artists…)

The White Album was called that because the original cover art planned wasn’t permitted (too riské:  if I remember it right, it was going to contain some nudity) so The Beatles just went with a plain white album cover.  One of their other albums, Sergeant Peppers’ Lonely Heats Club Band, was revolutionary in its use of new musical techniques, particularly at the production level.

I suspect Dain just thought it was a wee bit too quiet in here and was curious as to why.  Even though it isn’t a holiday, I’m sure willing to have one right about now!

Let’s see, it could be White Album day. Yeah, that’s it…
Angela

P.S.  I have to go out and buy that new CD of the Beatles’ #1 hits!
