Good Bye, So Long, Goodbye, so long my friends of wier. Thanks to you I learned some new techniques that will help me in the near future. My favorite story was 'a bird's song' it was a beautifully haunting story. It was written by an author at Havergal College. The story focuses on how one day something and the other it isn't. I learned new ways of revising my story. Before I thought it was just fixing little conventions, now I know its reorganization of thoughts. I learned many new things because of wier. I will treasure it dearly in the years to come. FROM PRIYANKA GOOD BYE SO LONG :-} I can't believe this W.I.E.R. project has come to an end. Wow! Time flies by so fast (especially when your having fun!) I really enjoyed participating, even if I wasn't a writer. By reading all those stories, I gained a lot of information on how to become a better writer. What I learned most was how to keep a story interesting: have conversations, use a unique technique of writing, describe the characters and surroundings, use a variety of vocabulary to fit in with the emotions or settings and have some metaphors or hidden meanings to capture the readers attention. I am surprised that I learned all that in a "chatroom/emailroom" (as I call the mail box). Computers are the future! I'd like to kindly and warmly give thanks to everyone who worked hard in W.E.I.R. I especially give a big thanks to Angela, who set up this W.E.I.R. project for us. I also admire and appreciate all of Rhea’s hard work spending her time and effort to correct all the stories from every school (there was tons of stories!) I am much obliged to the writers who wrote such great stories and poems. And I also thank those who responded. The advice you gave to the writers was so good that I could have thought it was a teacher1 I hope every body had fun and enjoyed W.I.E.R very much! (I did!) P.S Dear Rhea, I do call my grandma Baba and I also call my grandpa Dido (deedoh) I hope you understand this: Doh pobachinya! (that means goodbye!) Susanna Goodbye to Everyone. So it's already time for so long, it's just so hard to believe the time has ended and we have to go. During the time period of W.I.E.R I think I learned a lot about writing. The story I was the most fond of was the story titled "A Bird's Song" by Havergal College. I liked the way the author of the story wrote it the way life is. How one minute something’s there and the other minute it's gone. I think W.I.E.R. thought me a lot of new things about writing and now because of W.I.E.R. I'm more into reading and writing stories. At this time I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the people involved in W.I.E.R and a very special thanks to Angela and Trevor because without them this wouldn't have been possible. Well so long and goodbye! Sincerely Yours, Ann-Marie Hi I have had my story on the Weir program (What is a Hero) and I now know what it takes to be a professional writer, all the revisions, all the comments and helpful suggestions. I don't know how Rhea and other writers put up with it. But I guess when you're finally finished, it's all worth the effort. Anyway, I would like to thank Rhea for giving me pointers and I would also like to thank Angela for making this program. I really enjoyed it. My favorite story in Weir is "Happiness isn't". It was like reading a Harry Potter Book. I just didn't want to stop reading. Well I hope I can read all of the stories again sometime, until then..... Good Bye, Mikyla Over the past few weeks I have been accessing WIER at my schools computer lab. Rhea has helped me greatly in revising and editing my work. Its sad to go You probably know Though leaving WIER I shed no tear The friends I met Have yet to learn The lessons that I have learned Happy thoughts Won’t leave me |
