Revisions to What is a Hero? A hero to most people means saving a life or being a heroic influence on thousands of people.  Well the last part is true but the first part isn't always right.  A hero doesn't mean to save a life, it means to have bravery and make a difference.  Real hero's make sacrifices and help people when they need it most, not always when there life is in danger.  This paper will determine that someone doesn't have to save a life to be a hero. A hero can be someone who makes a difference in humanity.  For example Terry Fox did not necessarily save a life but he did raise money for cancer research by running across Canada even though he was diagnosed with cancer.  In my opinion he was a hero.  But making a difference in humanity isn't the only thing that makes a hero. Another thing is being loving and caring to all people.  An example of a person like that is Mother Teresa.  She did save lives but she also helped people with diseases, even though she was told not to touch them, she didn't listen.  She even gave up everything in her life to live with the poor, sick and dying.  Mother Teresa taught them love and compassion and how to die with dignity.  To me this is a great example of a different kind of hero, a kind of hero who doesn't care about outside appearances or where a person lives.  All she cared about was the help she gave them and that she made a difference.  To me that is a hero. Another quality of a hero is doing something no one has done before.  Amelia Airheart in my opinion is a good example of this.  She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and Pacific ocean.  Amelia Airheart also tried to fly around the world at its longest point.  I think that she was a hero because she did something no one had ever tried to do and she made a difference in woman's rights.  I also think if she didn't do it flying might not be so common today. This paper has determined that someone doesn't have to save a life to be a hero.  I think hero's can come from doing something no one has done before or being loving and caring to all people or even making a difference in humanity.  Any one of these qualities can make someone heroic.  To most people you need to save a life to be heroic but to me it doesn't.  It means more than that. To me being a hero means doing something amazing and making a difference.
