A/T'P Moments Broken Bow - Fortunate Son
Broken Bow
Archer and T’Pol’s first meeting. Things don’t start out on a good note. Both have prejudices to move past and don’t like the other at all.
Archer: How much longer?
T’Pol: Until you've proven you're ready.
Archer: Ready to what?
T’Pol: To look beyond your provincial attitudes and volatile nature.
Archer: Volatile? You have no idea how much I'm restraining myself from knocking you on your ass.
Broken Bow also has one of the first conversations without jabs at each other’s race from Archer or T’Pol. It is short lived.

Captain’s mess hall. Archer and T'Pol are seated across from each other at the Captain's table, mid-conversation.
Archer:The Grand Canyon?
T’Pol: No.
Archer: Big Sur Aquarium?
T’Pol: Sightseeing was not one of my assignments.
Archer: All work and no play... everyone should get out for a little R & R now and then.
T’Pol: All our recreational needs are provided at the Compound.

After this conversation, Trip enters. While fielding both of their questions T’Pol takes a few jabs at humans. Later, Archer and T’Pol have their first command decision argument. Archer’s feeling about Vulcans stemming from his father becomes apparent.
T’Pol: Space is very big, Captain. A shadow on your sensors won’t help you find them. This is a foolish mission.
Archer: Come with me.
Archer crosses to his ready room.
When behind closed doors he says: I'm not interested in what you think about this mission so take your Vulcan cynicism and bury it along with your repressed emotions.
T’Pol: Your reaction to this situation is a perfect example of why your species should remain in its own star system.
Archer: I've been listening to you Vulcans tell us what not to do my entire life. I watched my father work his ass off while your scientists held back just enough information to keep him from succeeding. He deserved
to see that launch. You may have life spans of 200 years -- we don't.
T’Pol: You are going to be contacting Starfleet to advise them of our situation.
Archer: No, I'm not, and neither are you. Now get the hell out there and make yourself useful.

During the fire fight with the Suliban, T'Pol is blown across the deck by the gust of air from a low flying ship. Archer goes over to T'Pol's side to cover her with fire while she goes back to the shuttlepod.
Archer: Go.
T'Pol: Enterprise needs it's captain. Give me the weapon.
Archer: I said go.

Archer is shot while heading back to the shuttlepod and has a dream about his father, which strangely features T'Pol.
My thoughts: Archer and T'Pol start out with preconceived notions of what the other's species is like. They don't trust each other, and don't like each other. They have very different ideas on command decisions from time to time. Both needed to work on their arguing skills at this point in the series. Insulting each other isn’t a good way to get someone to see your point of view. Some good points: In the episode, Archer risked his life for T'Pol despite his feelings about Vulcans, and T'Pol was willing to risk hers for the Captain. Their conversation in the captain's mess is also good because they are trying to get to know each other despite the occassional jab.
Fight or Flight

T’Pol enters the ready room. Archer searches for a squeak on his hands and knees while they talk about the course Enterprise is on. T’Pol later objects to Archer’s insistence on investigating the alien ship.
Strange New World

Archer wants to take a team down to explore the planet. T’Pol wants to send probes down first to do a survey for 7 days. Archer has her assemble a survey team to take down instead. T’Pol’s caution is later proven right.
After the shuttlepod lands on the planet, Trip takes a picture. Archer leans in close and smiles as he poses.
Archer: Be sure to get a copy of that to the Vulcan High Command!
Unexpected, Terra Nova. Any A/T’P moments you can think of? Please tell me and I'll find pictures and dialogue. Thanks!
The Andorian Incident
An Andorian menacingly talks to T'Pol and Archer responds.
Andorian: I've heard about your mating rituals. That Vulcan women force their men to fight each other to the death. Would you like me to kill someone for you?
Archer: Leave her alone.
Andorian: Would you like me to kill him?

Archer and T’Pol share a blanket while being held hostage by the Andorians at the P’Jem sanctuary. They have a conversation about non-violence vs. violence.
Archer lifts up the blanket offering T’Pol part of it.
Archer: There's room in here.
T’Pol: I'm fine.
Archer:You're freezing.
T’Pol: It's been 24 hours since I took my nasal numbing agent. The cold is preferable to the odor.
Archer: Come on.
T’Pol: An armed assault would put all of our lives at risk. Not to mention the destruction of the sanctuary itself.
Archer: I'd say our lives are already at risk.
T’Pol: Tensions between Andoria and Vulcan are high. Any casualties would only make matters worse.
Archer: It seems like you're letting them walk all over you. They come in here, they smash your relics they beat up your people. Then you just sit back and wait for them to walk away?
T’Pol: We don't believe in responding to violence with violence.
Archer: I admire your ethics but right now, a little violence might help.
T’Pol: You're beginning to sound like an Andorian.
Archer: You know I came here hoping to gain a little insight into the Vulcan mind. It looks like I'm getting it. You people think you're so damned enlightened... Problem? I'd like to find a peaceful solution, too but I don't think that's going to happen. However we end up dealing with this I need to know I can count on you.
T’Pol: Are you questioning my loyalty?
Archer: I just want to know where we stand.
T’Pol: I have never disobeyed your orders.
My thoughts: I liked that Archer stood up for T'Pol in this episode against the Andorian. Sharing a blanket with someone you dislike is a small step in the right direction away from both of their prejudices. Their conversation doesn't devolve into an argument with insults. I have to admit I loved them sharing a blanket.
Civilization

Archer is inside Riann's residence when T'Pol visits.
Archer: What is that?
Riann: Tea. Would you like some?
T'Pol??: Jon, may I speak with you?
Archer: I'd love a cup.
T'Pol: Did you get what you need?
Archer: Mm-hmm.
T'Pol: I should return to the ship and begin my analysis.
Archer: All right, you and the others head back.
T'Pol: What about you?
Archer: I'll stay here, see if I can learn more about Garos and these shipments.
T'Pol: The longer you remain the more you risk cultural contamination.
Archer: These people are suffering from something a lot worse than "cultural contamination." We've got to find out what it is.
T'Pol: Enjoy your tea.
