A/T'P Moments Detained - Shockwave

Detained

Know of any moments? Let me know at ghanami_jmw@yahoo.com. I'll be happy to look up pics and dialogue.

Vox Sola

T'Pol kneals down by Archer while he's covered in goo. She also wipes some of the goo off of his head.

Fallen Hero

So many moments it gets its own page. Fallen Hero Page

Desert Crossing

T'Pol talks to Archer after they both see Zobral off.

T'Pol: Captain.

Archer: Sub-Commander.

T'Pol: What you told him was correct. Decisions to get involved in the conflicts of other worlds should be left to governments and not starship captains.

Archer: I know. The irony is I have the feeling his cause is worth fighting for.

Two Days and Two Nights

Archer leaves Enterprise for Risa but feels some seperation anxiety from his ship.

Archer: If anything happens, you know where to reach me.

T'Pol: I don't anticipate any problems.

Archer: Well, it's the problems you don't anticipate.

T'Pol: The crew is trained to handle emergencies. But I'll alert you immediately if there are any problems.

Archer arrives in his villa on Risa to find a copy of the Teachings of Surak with a note attached.

My thoughts: I find it interesting that T'Pol gave Archer a gift. She had a logical reason to give it: to help him relax. But I bet Soval might raise his eyebrow at T'Pol giving a gift to a human. Perhaps it is logical to give the gift for another reason, maybe he is her friend and someone she cares for.

Shockwave

T'Pol brings news of Reed's findings to Archer's quarters. T'Pol tries to convince Archer to not give up.

Archer: Come in. What was so important it couldn't wait till morning?

T'Pol: If you'd prefer, I'll come back.

Archer: No, I'm sorry. What have you got?

T'Pol: Lieutenant Reed and his team have discovered an unidentified EM signature on the ventral hull of Shuttlepod One.

Archer: This could be anything.

T'Pol: Mr. Reed felt you'd be interested.

Archer: In what? Does he think that Starfleet Command's going to take a look at this, apologize and send us on our way? Tell him it was a nice try.

T'Pol: Is this what humans refer to as "feeling sorry for themselves"?

Archer: You're out of line, Sub-Commander.

T'Pol: I apologize.

Archer: I wish I was simply feeling sorry for myself. But, actually, I'm feeling sorry for a whole lot of people - every member of Starfleet, in fact. Their futures depended upon my ability to succeed at this mission.

T'Pol: As soon as we learned about the consequences of the explosion I knew the Vulcan high command would take advantage of the situation.

Archer: What's your point?

T'Pol: You have a responsibility to dispute their recommendation.

Archer: Starfleet already bought their recommendation hook, line and sinker.

T'Pol: Then you have a responsibility to convince them as well.

Archer: And how do you suggest I do that?

T'Pol: You are very adept listing the questionable decisions you've made. but there have been other decisions - many of them that no one would question. I'm willing to try to convince my government of that. Are you willing to try to convince yours?

Archer: You know... this has got to be the first time a Vulcan... has ever attempted to cheer up a human. I'll see you in the morning.

My thoughts: This conversation made me realize again how far A/T'P have come since Broken Bow. They may disagree about how to do things, but they respect each other's opinions. They don't insult each other like they used to. I like conversations like this between A/T'P where they discuss options on command decisions. That is one part of A/T'P that I missed in season 3. I love the cheering up comment.
