Michael opened his eyes as he rolled to see the time on the clock. It was 11 am, as she reached for a cup of water. He's was eighteen years old today. He couldn't believe he was eighteen, he didn't feel that old. He got out of bed and changed into new clothes. Walking down stairs, he saw the living room covered with, " Happy 18th Birthday." He just smiled at the signs because he knew his mother loved him so much.
" Good morning birthday boy. How does it feel to be eighteen years old?" Carly smiled looking at him.
" I don't feel any different than yesterday. " Michael said.
" Tonight will be so much fun. Your sister and I are going to make you dinner and then you'll get to open your presents. " Carly said with joy.
" Mom, do you think this could end like around seven tonight?" Michael said crushing him mother's heart.
" What? Why? It's your birthday and I thought it was.." Carly said but was interrupted by Sonny.
" Yeah, you'll be able to go out at seven." he said.
" Sonny." Carly yelled.
" What?" Sonny said, " He's eighteen years old and I don't think he wants to spend the whole night with his family."
" I guess, he could go out. " Carly said smiling at Michael.
" Thanks, Mom. " he laughed at her.
" Who are you going out with?" Sonny asked.
Michael first was silent as Carly grew this look on her face and said, " Is it a girl?"
Michael tried to cover his face and softly said, " Yes."
Carly got so excited and started to ask all these questions.
" Who is it? Is she cute? Do I know her?"
" Mom. Please calm down. Her name is Brooklyn. " he said.
Sonny's face grew worried as he spoke, " Son, you know what I told you."
" What?" Carly asked.
" Brooklyn is Ned's daughter." Sonny replied.
" Oh." Carly said.
" I don't care. And she doesn't care. I would never hurt her and she knows that." Michael said upset.
" And I don't think you would ever hurt her Michael, it's just that Ned might think that. " Carly said trying to make Michael understand that.
Later that night at six o'clock, the whole family sat down at the table and ate Michael's favorite meal, steak and baked potatos. They were all laughing as Morgan told a joke. Michael loved his family more than anything.
" So, who's the girl?" Morgan said.
" Morgan!" Sonny said loudly.
" What?" Morgan said, " I just want to know who is going to date my big brother. This that a crime?"
" Yes." Michael said.
" Can I met her?" Morgan asked.
" No." Michael said quickly as he put a piece of steak in his mouth.
" Why not?" she asked.
" Morgan, I think Michael isn't ready for her to met the family if you know what I mean. " Carly said.
" Whatever." she said as she took her dishes to the kitchen.
After dinner, Micheal went upstairs and actually put on three different outfits. He didn't know where he was going to take her but he wanted it to be so special. He knew deep down inside that Brooklyn was different from other girls. After finding the perfect outfit, he walked down the steps as Carly watch him. She grew tears in her eyes as Michael started walking towards her.
" Mom, don't cry." he said.
" I'm sorry. It's just it seems like yesterday you were just a little boy and now you're all grown up." she said.
" Mom, I'm only eighteen. It's not like I'm thirty five." he said.
She started to laugh and the door opened as Max said a young lady was here to see Michael. His heart stopped as she came in the door way wearing a beautiful pink dress. Looking at her sweet eyes, he said, " Come on in."
Walking in she said, " Hi." to Carly. " I hope you two have a fun night." Carly said as she left the room.
" Your mom seems really nice." Brooklyn said.
" She is." he paused as he glanced at her clevage. " You are looking so wonderful tonight."
Blushing she said, " Thanks. So where are we going?"
" It's a surprise." he said hoping he could figure out a place to take her.
