Chapter 6

THAT EVENING AT CARLY'S PENTHOUSE

"G, You two kissed? What happened to ‘I don't want him? I don't need him? And I am just better off without him’...to kissing him?"

"AH! I don't know!" She rubbed her temples and flopped on the couch "It just sort of happened!"

"Yah right! You two just ended up kissing! Just a little peck on the cheek."

"No...it was more like the way it use to be.” Gia looked at her fingers and played with her rings. “Carly the kiss was pure bliss. It was amazing. It had passion, love, EVERYTHING! I can't believe this! Know what the worse part is?"

"Oh and what is that?"

She put a pillow on her face. "I enjoyed it! I wanted it to happen! And I enjoyed every MINUTE of it! I am a horrible person!"

"YOU MEAN IT WAS MORE THAN A SECOND?"

She threw the pillow at Carly. "SHUT UP!"

"So go for it! Go for him! You obviously still care about him."

"It actually isn't that easy Carly. First of all he is dating gag-me girl! And secondly he has not proved himself to me yet! So I won't go back"

"Yah just like how you wouldn't give him a inch...but I guess a kiss doesn't count."

"Oh...please...don't do this now!" She started to moan.

"Fine…what is your plan?"

"I don't have a plan. I will continue to get my CD going. Tomorrow we are starting on the music video. So...yah."

"G, you can't just leave this hanging."

"Yah I can! And I will. It was... a one-time thin. It won't happen again." She sat up. "OH NO!!"

"What? You have more? If you tell me there is another kiss I swear I’ll tell Johnny!"

"No...” She scrunched her nose at her best friend ”I got to get to bed. I will call you later Carly." She raced to the door. As she opened it she turned her head. "Tell Sonny I said Hi too!" she slammed the door.

"She has it BAD!" Carly started to laugh.

NEXT DAY AT LnB

She sat on the couch. She hadn't gotten any sleep last night. All she could think about was Nikolas. She let out a moan and slapped her forehead. "OUCH!"

Nikolas slowly closed the door making sure she couldn’t hear him. He walked slowly over to her. He started to smile. It was a smile he hadn't had on for a long time. It was the smile that he knew he got whenever he was around Gia. He realized now that she had walked into his life an yr ago and a bit. And she had made his life better... and now here she was again... changing his life.

"WHY GIA!! WHY, WHY, WHY!! Can't you just forget it! Leave it alone! No, don’t think about it! PLEASE GIA STOP IT!" She opened her eyes. "Nikolas..."

"Hey. You having a nice relaxing afternoon?"

She loved his smile. "Hey...I was just waiting for you. Nice of you to join me." She laughed. "You ready."

"Well...the choreographer is coming later on and while she is here...at the beginning I just need to go drop off your demo tape to a couple places. I will be back before the choreographer leaves. So don't worry."

Her heart sank. She wanted Nikolas to watch her moves. "Okay." At least he would be there later.

"Great...and on my way back... I will pick up our..."He stopped and looked at Gia. She was smiling. Her face almost light up with the words ‘our’. He looked into her eyes they were sparkling. She was gorgeous. "I'll get our favorite super."

"Thanks Nik."

"No problem Sparky." He winked at her and left the room.

She kept smiling as he left the room. She spun around and flopped on the couch. He had such an effect on her. He had used OUR. Meaning togetherness. Then he called her by her special nickname, SPARKY. She remembered the first time he used that name on her. She felt like her soul was flying. She knew that if she could trust that he would stand by her that she would easily go back with him. All she needed was Sarah...to jump town.

"DONT YOU LOOK COMFORTABLE!"

She sat up and saw Sarah scowling at her. Oh here we go. "Hello Sarah. What can I do for you?"

"For starters you can LEAVE Port Charles...but for now you can tell me where my boyfriend is. You know the one that I am dating, did I mention that we love each other?"

She felt her insides turn as Sarah put the word love in a sentence that involved Nikolas. She may think that Nikolas loves her but it was nothing compared to what they had shared and would share. "Oh Nikolas? He is out for the afternoon. Getting me known in the music industry. That is so sweet of him.” She clasped her hands together. “Taking all that time just for ME!" She cocked her eyebrow at her.

"Right... Anyways... I find it so interesting... that you know exactly where he is."

"Well you should know that Nikolas and I usually had SUPERB communication skills. I am surprised he didn't tell you his plans. I mean... I find it interesting that he doesn't tell you everything. OH-well...I guess he just... doesn't have the special bond that WE did." She winked at Sarah and moved over to the tape machine and pretended to be scanning over her lyrics along with choreography. “One, two, three…step…jump…spin…five, six, seven…”

"WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH NIKOLAS?"

Gia stopped in the middle of her spin. “You actually have to ask. Sarah... he is my BUSINESS PR. He gets me promoted. He splashes my name in GOLD." She walked past Sarah. She instantly felt a hand grab her wrist. She looked down at the hand on her wrist then back up to Sarah. "Let go of me." She pulled her wrist away.

"LISTEN HERE GIA!! DO NOT go NEAR Nikolas. Do NOT touch him, and do NOT spend TIME WITH HIM!! Get a NEW PR."

"HA! You know that is actually almost funny! He is my PR ditz! He spends time with me. Actually he spends ALL day with me. He spends the mornings, the evening dinners, afternoon, party's...gee when does he have time for little of YOU!" She pointed her finger at Sarah and smiled.

"Know what you are?"

She clasped her hand together. "Oh please enlighten me SARAH! Since you know me OH so well!"

"ALL YOU ARE... is some POSTER GIRL PIN UP! NO WAIT YOU ARE A WHORE!"

Gia whipped her hand across Sarah's face, the noise of the slap echoes. She could easily see her handprints across Sarah's face.

"GIA!" Nikolas ran over to Sarah who instantly burst into tears at the site of him. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"

Chapter 7

"Nikolas! She just came up to me and...an...sl...slapped ME!"

"Breath honey...now tell me what happened?"

"Okay... I just simply asked where you were and she told me that she would get you back... and then I told her not to...and then she just slapped me! Then she told me I was a...SLUT!!" She burst into tears and smirked inside as Nikolas lapped up everything that she told him.

That is NOT what happened and you know IT!" She pointed her finger at Sarah. Then turned to Nikolas "Nikolas she came over here right after you left. She was looking for you. I of course told her where you were. That you were out promoting me, she then got really mad and accused me of trying to steal you AWAY! Then...to top it off she called me a poster girl pin up and a WHORE!"

Nikolas's jaw dropped. And looked at Sarah. "Please tell me you didn't say that."

"Of course I WOULD NEVER SAY THAT! Nikolas I thought you knew me better then that!" She started to cry again.

"I do know you better than that. I am sorry. Listen...why don't you go to my house and I will meet you back there after I deal with GIA!" He turned and glared at her.

"Okay... be there soon." She kissed his cheek.

"I will." He watched as she walked out the door. "Why would you say those things about Sarah? What has she done to you?"

"I don't know maybe call me a WHORE for starters!"

He glared at her "Why are you playing games? She wouldn't say that."

"I am not playing GAMES! SHE IS!! And she would say that because she sees that we are...becoming..." she threw her hands up "WHATEVER YOU CALL THIS!"

He ran his hands through his hair. "I don't know why I am still here with you! You never CHANGE!! Still the same Liar, cheat!!" He couldn't believe he just said that.

She slapped him across the face. And spat in his face. She watched as he slowly wiped it off. "BECAUSE YOU ARE PAID TOO! I pay you to promote me! I pay you to spend time with me! To go to dinners with me...everything you were suppose to do when we were TOGETHER! I pay you to stand by me! To be there for me!"

"I was always there for you!"

"BULL! Don't even spew your LIES to me! I have heard them ALL! I finally landed a modeling job that I worked my butt for. I had to go to parties and event, travel...but you just quit coming with me! You abandoned me...the thing that you hate most you did to ME!"

Her words stun him right in the gut. He watched as her eyes filled with tears. He went to grab her hand but she moved back.

"You left me...the person you were suppose to LOVE!! You were always to busy for the person you 'loved' I think about all the lies I told for you! It actually makes me sick! Sick to think that I stood up for you when you wouldn't even congratulate me anymore! I would go to parties and have to lie about you not being there. I couldn't bare having to tell people that the man that I loved with everything...that the man that I let into my heart wouldn't support me anymore because he thought I didn't deserve it!! You know maybe I should have paid you...like how I pay you know. Now you go to dinners with me and support me...but only because I put money in your account! Do you know how pathetic that is!? If I had done that...maybe you would have been the loyal person that I fell in LOVE WITH!! BUT HELL LETS FACE IT PRINCE!! I was always some blackmailing, liar, that cheated through life!"

He couldn't believe what she was saying...but yet deep down he knew she was right...he had treated her like that. "Gia...I never..."

"DON'T! Don't lie! You wouldn’t support me because you didn't believe! You didn't believe that I actually earned my way. That I earned if fairly! Let me put you in on something that you should know... I went to that job and tried out... I got denied...know what I did then? I didn't cheat my way...I worked. I went to dancing schools in the day...runway courses. At least 5 of them to make sure I had every walk PERFECT! When I was finally picked...after 6 interviews’ I had taken over 12 classes to help me to be the BEST!! A month later Carly bought the company...YOU of course instantly though it was some scheme...that I hadn't honestly EARNED IT!! WELL I DID!"

"I didn't know GIA!"

"Well, maybe if you would've cared I would have told you! By the way since you probably DON"T BELIEVE ME I HAVE THE RECIEPTS! So, go back to what you do best and run away. Run away from me because you don't believe me! Go to Sarah...because I am a HORRIBLE PERSON RIGHT?"

"I...am...so sorry Gia. I didn't know. And I would do anything to change the past to show you that I am that person you feel in love with. And I am staying..."

"YAH BECAUSE I AM PAYING YOU!" She turned to go to the recording room.

"NO! Because I don't want you to think that I don't believe in you!" He walked over to where Gia was wiping her tears. "Because Gia I always believed in you. Even though I didn't show it. I believe in you. I am sorry I made you feel like that."

She began to cry harder. She could feel his hands on her cheeks wiping her tears away. Even though he believed her, he was still with Sarah. And that pain was so much at that point. "So you believe me about Sarah?"

He stopped wiping. Great now he was stuck. A choice between his girlfriend and the women that he truly loved. "I..." What was he suppose to say. I believe you and then have her through it in Sarah's face. "Gia.... I..."

She pushed him away.

Sarah stood outside and watched what was happening between the two. She knew that Gia had asked him who he believed and she knew Nikolas well enough to know that He would never admit Gia was right...at least not with him dating her. She chuckled and walked away.

"See...you don't believe me! If you did you would admit that I hadn't said those things."

"Gia I know what you get like when someone backs you in a corner you fight back. Now all I am saying is that if Sarah baited you then...you MIGHT have snapped and attacked." He walked towards her and she took a step back.

"NIKOLAS I HAVE NEVER CALLED ANYONE A SLUT BEFORE...not even.... LIZARD!! You have no faith in me...why do I even bother!"

"BECAUSE YOU KNOW I STILL LOVE YOU!" He froze in his position. He couldn't believe he just said that. Why did he just say that?

"Did you mean that?" Her whole face softens as she looked at Nikolas.

"NO! I didn't...it just came out." He ran his hands through his hair.

Her spin went straight. She was ready to lunge. He said he loved her and now he didn't. This boy could NOT MAKE UP his mind. First...he believed...now he doesn't. He loves me...now he doesn't.

(RING RING)

She looked at the phone. "Excuse me." She brushed past him and picked up the phone. "Hello, Gia speaking...."

"Hello my pretty...how are you this fine afternoon."

"I'm fine...who is this?"

"You look so good standing there in those work out clothes. Your hair is so beautiful..."

Her eyes filled with fear. "WHO IS THIS?"

"You will eventually find out!"

Chapter 8

She slowly set the phone back down and looked out towards the windows scanning for a person. None. Her eyes moved fast yet not seeing a soul.

“Gia who was it?” He walked over to her. “You okay?”

She looked at Nikolas. “Yah of course I am okay. Why would you ask?” She didn’t want to tell Nikolas, he wouldn’t understand.

“Well maybe because your hand is trembling.” He pointed to her hand that was shaking.

She looked down at it “Oh…” She jammed her hands in her pockets. “Just some prank call or something.” Or something was right. Some psycho person wanting her badly.

“Gia…what did they say to you?”

“It isn’t a big deal Nikolas.”

“Listen Gia we can either walk around the bush until you tell me or you can save a lot of time and just spill the beans.” He crossed his arms and smiled

“Okay…it was just some guy stating that he knew what I was wearing. I asked him who he was and he said that I would find out soon. Kind of creepy but no big deal.”

“We should call your brother Gia. And this is a big deal!”

“Nik…it isn’t a big deal. Stuff like this happens all the time. It is just some fan. Relax.” She walked to the table and opened bottled water.

“Why are you so calm? Does this often happen to you? I mean some weirdo knows what you’re wearing and you are just sitting there drinking WATER! Are you sure you don’t need something harder?”

She started to laugh. She looked at Nikolas who apparently wasn’t finding this as funny as she was. “Nik…it happens a lot. Fans find out what you are wearing…not a big deal. Now if this person constantly called you and what not...then it is a big deal.” She was leaving out so much. But she couldn’t tell Nikolas the gruesome details.

(RING RING)

They both looked at each other. “I’ll get it Prince.” Gia clicked the talk button on the phone “Hello?” She let out a sigh as she heard the voice. “Yah no problem. Yah we can reschedule. Bye.” She hung up. “It was Meredith she can’t make it today. She said she would call back later.”

“Oh…well…then I am going to drive you home. C’mon lets go.”

“NO! Listen, Nikolas I know you are just trying to help…but I want to go for a jog…plus…little SARAH is going to flip if she finds out you drove me home. So see yah later.” She walked past him and closed the door.

OUTSIDE OF GIA’S PLACE TWO HOURS LATER

She got off the elevator and headed to her pent house. She took out her key from her bag. She was so tired. Her head ached so much and her shoulder was sore. She walked in and smiled she could smell the sweet sent of Vanilla. She went to her bathroom through the hall door. She turned on the tap water and poured some vanilla bubble bath in it. She began to strip off her cloths. She flipped her head down and put her hair up on the top of her head. She slowly got into the hot tub. She could instantly feel her muscles relax.

AN HOUR LATER

She finally looks at her watch. It was getting later. She pulled herself out of the bath and wrapped her black terry cloth towel around her. She looked in the mirror. She even looked tired. She opened the door to her bedroom. She froze in the doorway. She let out a scream as her eyes raced around the room. Her cloths were thrown everywhere. Her bed was in a complete mess, yet resembled the figure of a body. Almost like someone had been sleeping in it or…something. She turned her attention to her walls that were spray-painted. She began to shudder as she read it:

She bolted out of her ruined room and to the door. She grabs the knob and twisted but it was locked. “WHAT?” She looked down and noticed that her doorknob was switch. There was no way to get out. She looked to see the key opening was glued. “HELP!! SOMEBODY! OH god help.” She started pounding the door. Heaving herself into the door praying that by some miracle it would open.

Starting playing over her speakers. She covered her eyes. “SOMEONE!!” She started trembling and crying.

Chapter 9

Nikolas got off the elevator and looked at his paper. He had asked the receptionist for her room number. As he headed down the hall he could have sworn that he heard a scream. As he got closer the noise also got closer. He finally heard Gia’s voice screaming. He started running down the hall. “GIA! GIA!”

“HELP! STOP IT STOP IT!!” She banged the door again.

“GIA WHERE ARE YOU?” He yelled louder.

“NIKOLAS?”

“GIA?”

“NIKOLAS HELP ME!! HELP!!” She pounded the door again. She heaved herself onto the door again.

He looked down and noticed the knob was switch he unlatched it. He burst the door open and saw Gia crumpled there. Screaming. She was hysterical. He sat down beside her. “Gia…honey it is me.” He touched her face. And saw her eyes were red. His heart stopped as he looked down at her hands. They were blue and black from pounding on the door. “Come here baby.” He pulled her close to him.

She finally had enough strength to speak. “HE WAS HERE!! In…in…my room!” She started to shake rapidly. She could feel his strong arms around her. And she slowly began to climb on his lap trying to get closer to him.

“Who…who was here?” He kissed her forehead.

“The man on the phone.”

His eyes widened. Someone was after Gia. First calling and now this, how long had she known and been fighting this herself? “It’s alright now. I am here. No one is going to hurt you baby.” He could feel tears coming to his eyes. She was honestly scared. He had never seen Gia scared before. She was always such a fighter even when he pulled away from her months ago she was strong and wouldn’t let him see the ruins that he had really caused until after they were over. Even then they were so little.

“Good. I wan to get out of here.”

“I think we should call Taggart. Is that alright?”

“Yah…I want Marcus. Get Marcus.” She slowly let her grip go and watched as Nikolas dialed his number

“Hello Taggart? This is Nikolas Cassadine. I need you to get over to Gia’s pent house. NOW!” He hit the end button. “He’ll be here really soon baby.”

“How did you know I needed you?” She looked up into his eyes. She could see his concern.

“You left your jacket over at LnB. So I dropped it after I was done there. How about we go sit down.”

“I want that music off. Turn it off.” She tried to keep her cool. It was all right. Nikolas was there now. Nothing would happen. Marcus was on his way to. Nothing would happen Gia… breath… its alright.

He got up and turned off the music. “There we go. He should be here really soon. Just relax. Do you want some water?”

“No I just want you here. Don’t leave okay?”

“I wouldn’t even think about it. Come seat by me.” He instantly felt her body next to him. He lifted up his arm and felt her head next to his chest. This was the way it was suppose to be.

“I’m not staying here tonight. Nikolas he was in my bed doing…who knows. I just don’t want to stay here.”

“Okay…you could stay with Carly?” He couldn’t believe he just gave that idea. The only place he wanted her was in his place. Under his roof where she belonged. “Or…over at my place.”

“I want to go to your place…besides Carly and Sonny are gone somewhere. Can I stay at your place? I know Sarah would be mad…but I always feel safe there.”

“Yeah, that is where I want you.”

“Baby sis.” Marcus walked in and headed straight to his sister.

She bolted up and ran into her brother’s arms. She felt safe in his and Nikolas arms.

As he held her he could feel her trembling body under his. He looked at Nikolas who looked shaken up. He mouth the words “thank you”

He nodded his head and looked back at Gia.

“Baby what happened? Did he come back?” He got her to sit back down by Nikolas. He watched as she let Nikolas cradled her.

“What do you mean come back? Has this happened before?”
She nodded her head. “I came home after jogging in the park. I went straight to the bathroom through the hall door. I had a bath.” She took a breath. Strong, be strong. “When I came out of my bath I opened the door to my…room.” She started to shake again. “My room was in ruins…I came racing out and the door was stuck…or locked…then the music...his music. He was here Marcus…he was here. Then Nikolas came.”

“Okay…I am going to go check your room. Stay here with Nik.” He walked away.

TEN MINUTES LATER

“Gia you’re not staying here.” Marcus came back out and sat down.

“Marcus you can’t tell mom. She won’t understand. You know how much she hates my job as it is. She doesn’t need to know about this.”

“Gia I won’t tell mom, but you can’t stay here. Nikolas I want her at your place. I know you will take care of her. RIGHT?” He gave Nikolas a glare

“I wouldn’t want it any other way. And I will take care of her so don’t worry. You are going to get some people over here right to check it out right?”

“Yes, but first I need to know Gia will be fine and in safe hands.”

“She will be I promise. I’ll take care of her.” They shook hands

“Gia, baby. You are going to go home with Nikolas dressed like that. I will have someone drop off some cloths in the morning.”

She looked at her terry cloth housecoat. “Okay…can we go now?” She looked at Nik who nodded his head.

He stood up. “Call me later Taggart.”

COTTAGE

He opened the door for her and allowed her to walk in.

She looked around. It was exactly how she left it. Not a thing moved. “Its…it’s the same”

“Sarah wanted to change it around…but I didn’t like the idea of our…my home becoming me and hers.” He ran his hands through his hair “Anyways, you should really get to bed. I’ll help you.” He went over to her side but she held out her hand

“Nikolas.” She couldn’t allow him to tuck her in. Because she knew that he couldn’t give her the love she needed right now. “I can do it myself but thanks.” She kissed his cheek and made her way upstairs.

Chapter 10

She knew she cared about Nikolas. She also knew that she had never stopped caring about him. She had made the choice to hide the feelings, because of his attitude. But now the feelings were beginning to escape. It was like the kiss opened the doors to it all over again.

He flopped on the couch. He was stuck. The choices of two women. Two women that he cared for. One who was pretty, smart, down to earth. Compared to a sexy, exotic, talented, smart, wild women who made his heart beat faster when she walked in a room. The choice seemed simple…Gia…but it wasn’t.

She remembered what he had said. He would take care of her and that was a promise. Then that he loved her. She still loved him. She hadn’t even seriously dated anyone since they ended. She wanted him back more than anything. But she knew Nik too well. She knew he wouldn’t leave Sarah until he was sure.

He sat up. He couldn’t end it with Sarah. But he wanted Gia back. When she left his world was shattered no thanks to him. But it was like gravity left and nothing was the same. Even when Sarah came back into his life… it didn’t bring gravity. Sure him and Sarah were dating but she didn’t fulfill him like Gia.
