Alexis stared blankly at Krissy, the question she dreaded for years was finally asked. She was not prepared.

"Well?" said Krissy as her heart pounded

"Kristina I-" Alexis stopped talking

"Mother!!! tell me! who is my father?" Krissy's voice was shaking

"I- I don't know!" Alexis couldn't tell her the truth, so those were the first words that came to mind

"What do you mean? you don't know?" Krissy stared at her mother

Alexis took a second to come up with something "I told you, I don't know. I mean I know but I couldn't tell you where he is or what his name is".

Krissy wiped the tears off her cheeks "what?!"

I...I met him at Jake's, I went there one night. I was so lonely! Ned had moved on with my sister and I accepted it, I really did but still felt so alone...so there was this man and I had drank way too much and one thing led to another. I never saw him again, and my god when I found out I was pregnant I didn't know what to do, so I told Ned about it. I was running for D.A at the time...this would have ruined my chances of winning. God I could just see it, it would have turned into such a scandal, so then Ned agreed to say he was your father. We didn't tell Kristina at first because she had the tendancy of blurted the truth out so Ned lied to her and.." Alexis took a deep breath and closed her eyes "And I never forgave myself for that".

"Why did you feel you had to keep this from me?" asked Krissy still trying to let what she had just heard sink in.

"We told Kristina the truth before she died, and she wanted Ned to be there like a father..so we just continued letting people think that. I didn't end up winning the election, and Ned took off with Faith and well you know the rest..honey I didn't want you to think less of me..I-".

"So this man you met one night at Jake's..you have no idea where he could be?"

Alexis looked at Krissy "My god! no..for all I know he could have been passing through town. I'm so sorry honey, I'm so sorry for not telling you the truth! I just wanted to protect you..Cameron and I love you sooo much".

"Does Cameron know?" asked Krissy

"Yes, he knows Ned wasn't you're father".

Krissy turned her back away from her mother. "Well I think I'm going to go upstairs and just let this sink in".

"Kristina!"

"yeah" she turned back towards Alexis

"I love you".

Krissy gave her a half smile and headed upstairs.
