Discovering the Truth

~Chapter Nine~

Krissy woke up and glanced at her clock....it read 12:10 pm. "Oh my god" Krissy quickly jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. Alexis and Cameron sat on the couch. Cameron was reading his book and Alexis continued with her paper work. "Mom! why didn't you wake me?"

"It's Sunday Krissy, I thought I'd let you sleep in".

"Yeah but I never sleep in this late!...I uh...I don't know whats gotten into me?"

"What do you mean?" said Cameron putting down his novel and looking at Krissy with concern "do you want to talk about it?".

"No Dad! I don't need any psychological analysis at the moment".

He just laughed "No I meant from a fathers point of view".

"I'll go grab you some breakfast" Alexis got up and went into the kitchen "How's popcorn?" Alexis called from the kitchen.

Krissy shook her head and laughed "I think I'll just have some cereal" she replied

"Now are you going to tell me whats been bothering you? or am I gonna have to pry it out of you? I've noticed you've seemed distance these past few days".

"No its nothing! really I'm fine, I've just been having some really creepy dreams. No big deal".

"No big deal?!? did you know dreams can mean a lot...there a way of telling you something? do you wanna share"?

Krissy almost felt like confiding in Cameron but stopped when her mother entered the room, she handed Krissy a bowl of cereal.

"Thanks".

Cameron waited for Krissy to answer his question and then she finally said "I think I'm going to head to the library today...I still have that history project to begin".

Krissy flipped through book after book and still she only had one little sentence written down. She couldn't concentrate she kept thinking of what Kristina had told her in her dreams. "Maybe Dad was right, dreams can mean something!". Krissy took a deep breath "Kristina acted like someone she loved had caused her death", but she knew she was caught in the middle of one of Sonny's wars.

Krissy suddenly had a strange idea.

She approached a woman at the front desk. "May I help you?" asked the woman

"ah..um...yes I uh I was just wondering if I could look at some archive newpapers?"

"Certainly what year were you looking for?"

Krissy had to think for a few minutes "ummm 2002".

"Follow me" the woman headed toward a back room and took out a pile of papers "theres a lot here, it might help if you knew the date or month?"

"Well it was in August..yeah August of 2002".

"There you go".

Krissy took the pile of papers and headed back to her seat. She continued to flip through paper after paper and then she suddenly stopped: August 5th, 2002 Bomb goes off at Corinthos-Morgan imports taking the life of Kristina Cassadine. There was a picture of the aftermath of the coffee warehouse and a picture of her aunt below. Krissy almost felt sick as she continued to read: How many more innocent people will lose their lives in the mob war?....bomb meant for Sonny takes the life of an innocent bystander. Krissy didn't want to read anymore. "Why was my aunt there in the first place?" Krissy thought to herself. she flipped through a few more papers and saw another article on Kristina..it read: "Alexis Davis lashes out at her sister's funeral" Krissy skimmed through the article but stopped when the name Ned Ashton caught her eye..he quoted "how many more innocent people will have to die in the hands of Sonny Corinthos? the woman I loved had nothing to do with him yet she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and because of that man she is dead, organized crime in Port Charles will go down".

Krissy backed up at bit "woman I loved!?!?......woman I loved??".

She felt her head begin to spin. Ned was with her mother around the time of her aunts death, well thats what her mother had always led her to believe. Why would he say he loved Kristina when he was with my mother?

Krissy got up and thought of her latest dream "Things aren't always as they seem" was what her aunt had told her.
