OMG! I received a letter of concern for my son, for not doing his 'Dance' Homework... WHAT THE! ha, Does dance actually have homework? lol it's the silliest thing I've ever read...
Here is a section of the letter:
"Your child's approach to learning is an important aspect of success at school, in life after school and in employment.
Recently, your son's learning has been adversely affected by the following and will need action in order to improve outcomes.
Has not completed assigned homework for dance."
They've given me 2 lines to comment... well aren't they in for a rude shock when they receive a reply containing at least 2 pages, of how they've got their priorities wrong and how it's more important if the cause for concern is for a core subject and I can't see how this will benefit my son with success in life after school or in employment... I have asked my son and he has no intent on being the next Paul Mercurio, nor to participate in the Sydney Mardi Gras... I'm sure if he wanted to be Paul Mercurio, he would attend John Curtin... I'm not dissing teachers, cos I wouldn't do your job for the world... Having 30 teenagers in one room is my worse nightmare. I commend the good teachers... But this is just silly, but it was the biggest laugh which brought tears rolling down my eyes and stitches in my stomach... I can't believe they sent it to me, or to anyone in that fact, it's just laughable... Everyone I've told have experienced fits of laughter after informing them of it.
