Ghost- a visual appearance of a deceased human beings spirit, life force, essence, or soul.

Apparition- any disembodied spirit that appears visibly.

These are special words and some common words with really weird meanings that are used by anyone involved in the paranormal

Supernatural- something that cannot be explained by any known means or force of nature. As opposed to paranormal, the term "supernatural" often cannotes divine or demonic intervention.

Paranormal- something which is beyond the range of normal hunam experiences or scientific explanations.

Percipient- person who sees an apparition.

Soul- the life force that distinguishes one person from another.

Collective Apparition- more than 1 person sees the same spirit phenomenon

Poltergeist- a non-human spirit or entity, usually more malicious and destructive than the traditional ghost.

Ghost hunter- person who searches for, finds, and sometimes is able to identify apparitions or the cause of the spirit activity.

Ghost Buster- person who removes a ghosst, poltergeist, spirit entity,or spectral activity from a haunted site.

Ectoplasm (ecto)- Residue left behind by ghosts or other paranormal phenomena. Many believe that spirits use ectoplasm to materialize.

E.V.P. (Electric Voice Phenomena)- term used to describe noises or voices that are recorded on traditional audio or video tape.

Orbs- phenomenon in the shape of a ball of light, often thought to be trapped souls.

Residual Haunting- a term used to describe a spirit that is trapped in a continous emotional loop.
