 "Blue
Whine"
...complete with Mazda Rotary engine, turbo,
nitrous and stretched. |
One day, my dear
husband brought home an unfinished sand rail frame that he said he was going to put into
the rafters of the garage. Yea, right! Well, a year later, we had "Blue
Whine". This dune buggy was powered by a turbo charged Mazda rotary engine with
nitrous oxide. On the hill in Glamis, there were few who
were faster. It was a beauty....with blue powdercoat and tons of chrome. I'm
proud to say that he built it from the bottom up. "Blue Whine" was Chuck's
pride and joy until little Miss Brooke came along. The picture to the left
shows Blue Whine with her first engine, a Toyota, and before she was stretched. |

"I'd rather throw sand than
eat it!"
The front end would actually lift off the ground though it had been stretched.
When the turbo kicked on, one felt like they were being hurdled through space in a rocket!

Chuck is operating engineer. This is his current
machine, though he operates all. He has worked in all forms of construction and is
quite handy. However, when I met him he was a goldsmith in a fine jewelry store!
He is certainly multi-talented I must admit! |

Like the dune
buggy, Chuck built Brooke's chariot from the ground up. It is a simulation of a
Radio Flyer wagon, but much, much bigger! The wheels turn independently, there is an
oil pan underneath (fully lined and upholstered) that serves as storage for purses and
cameras, and there is a cooler rack. The cooler rack is a necessity for those
breaks from pulling the darn thing! I say it needs an engine!!! |
Our family is
powered by GM. Below, this was Chuck's slammed Chevy truck completed by himself
again! It was a show piece. (Chuck would like to restore a '56 Chevy.)

Chuck, also, has
had many motorcycles in his life. On his wish list (with many other things) is a Harley Davidson Custom Soft Tail or Dyna
Wide Glide.

~ A Little Verse
That I Swear That Chuck Could Have Written ~
So here I sit, in all my glory...
Lend me an ear, and I'll tell ya a story...
I once had a wife--she was such a dear,
Then came the Net, and it all
disappeared!
Now there she sits, for hours on end...
don't care where I'm goin', don't care where I've been.
It could be three, or it could be nine...
she really doesn't care, long as she's online.
She gets outta work and rushes home, She comes in yelling at me,
"Get off the phone!"
Where is the hug? Where is my kiss?
But she's at the computer--that's all she missed!
Talking to cyber friends,
checking the mail.... I might as well be in a Cyber Jail!
My stomach's growling--it's so unfair!
No clean dishes and no clean underwear!
Drink me a beer, stare at the walls.
I'll pick at my teeth and roam the halls,
Keep right on burping what a sight to see...
Can you believe she's there?? When she could be with ME!
