GHS 153, McMahon 84, Harding 27, Trinity 8: At GHS the Cardinals cruised to victory behind double winner Ned Breen.

Breen won the 5,000-meter in 20:02 and came back to take first in the 3,200 with a time of 13:01.

Greenwich, (6-4) also received solid performances by John Sullican and Chris Wilkinson. Sullivan had personal bests in both the javelin, which he won with a throw of 143-feet, and the shot put, which he placed second with a distance of 40-11.

Wilkinson won the 1,600 (5:07), took second in the 5,000, and was third in the 3,200.

Also for Greenwich, Kenji Yamagishi placed second in the 800 in 2:20.

"We were very happy with the results," GHS assistant coach Mike Chapleau said. "The team is really coming around, and most of our finishes were very strong."

Other GHS winners: Chris McDonald (110hh, 18.8); Phil Salvo (pole vault (11'06"); 4 X 100m (Lowin, Mediate, Johnson, Bledsoe); 4 X 400m (LaMaraisse, Zimmer, Lowin, Wood).

State Qualifiers: Salvo (pole vault), Steve Resnick & Larry Johnson (100m, 11.4 and 11.5)
