Ferrari was started by Enzo Ferrari in 1929. The company logo is one of the most well-known in the world. It shows a horse standing rampant and first appeared on the fuselage of the plane of Francesco Baracca, a fighter ace who was shot down in 1918. Baracca's mother suggested that he take the emblem after he won his first race in Ravenni in 1923. Ferrari is one of the most popular manufacturer of expensive sports cars and the brand is considered prestigious.
The company is part of FIAT,but not of it's automobile department,belonging directly to the management. Ferrari retain their own style and peculiarity of construction,unlike the rest of the company's under Fiat's wing. For many years, the design company Pininfarina was responsible for the exterior design, furnishing and color palette of the Ferrari models, trying to preserve their style and make them instantly recognizable. |
