Giancarlo Zambrotta came to the fore when he made his international debut for Italy at the age of 22 after a long, successful run in the Under-21 side. Commencing his career at Como Calcio, Zambrotta settled very quickly at Juventus FC, following his €15.85m move from AS Bari in 1999. A good crosser of the ball, he is capable of playing on either wing as well as through the middle and has a keen eye for goal. Zambrotta was involved in the Italy squad for EURO 2000™, playing four times in the tournament.
