Michelangelo Rampulla Date Of Birth: August 10th 1962 Position: Goalkeeper A true veteran of the game, Michaelangelo Rampulla joined Juventus FC at the beginning of the 1992/93 season following spells with Pattese, Verese FC, AS Cesana and US Cremonese, where he spent seven seasons and even scored a goal in his final season after charging upfield for a corner. Although the Carrara-born player has never been the Turin club’s preferred choice as goalkeeper, variously playing second fiddle to the likes of Edwin van der Sar, Angelo Peruzzi and Gianluigi Buffon, his dedication to the club’s cause and unswerving loyalty make him a rarity in the modern game. Played in the UEFA Champions League campaign of 2000/01 after van der Sar was sent-off against Panathinaikos FC. |
