What we believe
We are furries, or "fur fans," i.e. people who enjoy the furry genre, pretending to be animals(e.g. acting, not behaving like animals morally), costuming, furry art, and other furry entertainments. But we also are Christians. C.S. Lewis was a Christian, and perhaps the first "Christian fur" because, along with writing books like "Mere Christianity" and "The Screwtape Letters," he wrote the "Chronicles of Narnia," fantasy books full of talking mice and bears, beavers, and the like. (Obviously, he wouldn't have been interested in the sorts of perverted things that many circles in the furry fandom approve of today, but he did write stories about anthropomorphic animals. Most Christian furries take a similar perspective, preferring to avoid the filth associated with certain sectors of the fandom).
As Christian furs, we believe:
- Deep down inside, we know we are human beings, created by an all powerful God. While we pretend to be animals, we know we are God's creation, produced by God's power, not evolution. We also believe that no one equals God in power. We do not believe in dualism, i.e. the belief that God and Satan are equals.
- We believe that the bible is true, and inspired by God. We believe that God dictated his words to be written down by human beings in the form of the Holy Bible.
- We believe sin exists. We believe in moral absolutes, which are written about in the law of Moses.
- We believe that humans are basically sinful. Human beings are not basically good. They bear the curse of Adam, and they also have committed sins themselves apart from the sin of Adam.
- We believe that Satan exists. God's voice is not the only voice which speaks. God is not the only one who acts in this world of human beings. There is a dangerous deceiver named Satan also present in the world, who speaks lies and misrepresents the word of God.
- We believe in Jesus as the son of God. Jesus is not just a man or a prophet. He was not given `Christ consciousness,' but was actually born from the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary as the Son of God.
- We believe in Jesus as the messiah. Jesus is the saving messiah king prophecied by bible prophets.
- We believe that Jesus died on the cross to die for our sins. We believe that Jesus actually died. He also did not feign his death on the cross only to die later, he actually died on the cross. And he did this to pay for our sins. As one man, Adam brought sin upon humankind, so the one man, Jesus brought redemption and forgiveness for all our sins.
- We believe Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus is alive. He actually came back to life, in the same body, after dying.
- We believe that heaven and hell exist. There is a place called hell that sinners go to in the afterlife. There is also a place called heaven where only the righteous can enter.
- We believe that sinners stand condemned. Because of our fallen nature, without Jesus we all face the consequence: being condemned to hell and eternal separation from God.
- We believe there is only one path to salvation. We cannot get to heaven by our own good deeds. Only Jesus can forgive our sins and save us from the condemnation we deserve. Only Jesus can make us righteous enough to enter heaven. We do not believe in religious syncretism. Those who do not believe in Jesus will face God's wrath due to their sin.
- We believe in our calling, evangelism. Jesus called his followers to go make disciples of all nations. That means sharing the message of Christ, even to those who want us to be silent and think that sharing Christ is intolerant to other religions.
- We believe that prophecy is complete in Revelation. Any new prophecy, if any good, will only re-state what has been prophesied in Revelation. We only await the return of Christ. Christ will return, and it will not be a secret thing like cult leaders would want you to believe. Everyone will know and be gathered up to him.
- We believe The only natural sexual relationship is between a man and a woman. We believe God made Adam and Eve, male and female, and this is the only kind of sexual relationship there is. Homosexuality and bestiality are sins.
