     Guarded by the planet Mars, Hino Rei has great fighting spirit and self-confidence. She also has a short temper, and can often be found bickering/arguing/yelling/fighting with Usagi. She is, in actual fact, great friends with Usagi... Rei argues with her for Usagi's good. She wants Usagi to become more serious with her responsibility of being Sailor Moon, instead of being silly most of the time. Unlike the rest of the inner senshi, Rei goes to T*A Private Girls School, and is treated like the queen there, that is probably why she is full of attitude. She currently lives with her grandfather at Hikawa Jinja on Sendai Hill, where she is shinto priestess. Rei's two pet crows are named Deimos and Phobos (named after the two moons of Mars). While usually maintaining a self-righteous attitude, Rei can also be childish.
     Rei is a person who is always looking forward, and she will do what it takes to reach her goal. Unfortunately, however, the guy she likes is very clumsy and ponderous: Kumada Yuuichiro. He did not really tell Rei of his love and affections for her, maybe it is because he just doesn't know how to tell her, or because he is just too shy! But Yuuichiro definitely loves Rei. Also, like Usagi, Rei loves getting close to handsome guys around her. She once fell in love with Mamoru, and has tried to get close to him. However, when Rei found out that Usagi and Mamoru were destined to be together, she backed out.
     As Sailor Mars, she uses fire-based attacks, and being a shinto priestess, she also has various spiritual attacks too. She can easily sense when the enemy is near and can also sense danger, communicate with the fire god, and exorcise spirits with ofuda. Her fuku is red, her eyes are violet-black, and she wears red heels and red star-shaped earrings and has very long black hair.
