Confusion is….
1. When you do not understand yourself. | James 3:14-16; Rom.7:15-25 |
2. When you do what you do not understand. | Mark 12:30-33; Rom.12:1; I Cor.14:15 |
3. When you do not know what to do | Gal. 5:17; Rom.7: 15-25; James 1:6-8 |
4. When you do not understand others | I Cor.14: 10-11, 16-17, 20 |
5. When there is disorderliness | I Cor.3:1-5, Acts 19:32; I Cor.14:23, 30, 33,40 |
A man prays to God and he does not understand what he prays | "What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with
the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with
the understanding also." --I Cor.14:15
|
A man speaks or prays loudly while the speaker is yet speaking | "Let all things be done decently and in order"
---I Cor.14:40 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:" ---James 1:19 |
A man thinks he is baptized by the Spirit yet his body quakes, shivers, or falls to the ground and he loses control of his body | He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken
down, and without walls.
---Prov.25:28 |
A man thinks it is the Holy Spirit that indwells him, yet his mind is doubtful and he cannot understand what is happening to him | For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of
love, and of a sound mind.
--2 Tim.1:7 |
A man keeps saying "Amen!, Praise the Lord" but he does not understand what the other person is saying or praying. | 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that
occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing
he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. --I Cor.14:16-17 |
All the congregation speak together in various languages loudly and at the same time | If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and
all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or
unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
--I Cor.14:23 |
The pastor and the members speak in languages that they cannot understand one another although they have the ability to speak a language in which they can communicate well | Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding,
that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in
an unknown tongue.
--I Cor.14:19 |
A man thinks it is good and ethical to speak to a friend in a language that he does not understand | 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall
be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a
barbarian unto me.
--I Cor.14:11 |
A man thinks that he can win the lost by using the gift or language that cannot be understood by others | 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another,
Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? --Acts 2:7-8 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. --Acts 2:41 |
A woman lay on the floor of the church and she thought the Spirit made her do it. | Let all things be done decently and in order.
--I Cor.14:40 |
One says he has been filled with the spirit of laughter while the other thinks he has been filled with the spirit of sorrow. The other laughs while the other weeps. There are those who jumps while there are those who fall. There are those who bark and howl and there are those who speak in words that cannot be understood. Is this the work of the Holy Spirit? | For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches
of the saints.--I Cor.14:33
