Animation Export for L2000
Version 1.6.1

The software is freeware, so the user may use it free of charge for his or her purposes. This includes showing it to others, for instance on the internet, but it is not allowed to redistribute or decompile the software or to make any kind of profit from it without knowledge of the authors of the software. GIF-files created by this software may not be used in such a way that any kind of profit is made from them, unless YOU have a license from Unisys, which is holding patent on GIF files. Look at http://www.unisys.com for more information.
This software has a FTP-option. For your convenience, the password needed to access the FTP-server is stored in the registry. The password is not stored directly in the registry, but it is encrypted before it is stored. But I do not guarantee that it is impossible for any person, program or anything else, to retrieve the password. Using the software and entering a password in the program is at your own risk.

Animation export for L2000 uses screen capture files created by L2000, a screen capture program, or the screen capture function of Animation Export to create GIF images and animations. After the export routine is started, the program will continously monitor the screen capture file till it is updated, or the program will make a screen capture at a specified interval. Animation Export has the option to maximize a certain window, before capturing the screen. This makes it possible to use the computer for other tasks, while at specified times a program is activated, captured, and minimized. The program will export the last screen capture file to a GIF file and add the last screen capture to an animated GIF. A special code is added to the animation file, which enables the program to determine which frames are outdated and have to be removed from the animation. The program also has the ability to upload the files, if wished together with other files, to a FTP server.

- first attempt to fix registry access uunder WindowsNT and Windows2000
- if two identical frames are added to the animation, one is deleted (sometimes, the screen capture file is updated almost immediatly after the first update. It seems to me that the cause of this is not in Animation Export, maybe it is caused by the operating system or L2000)
- files are uploaded via the temporary file "aetemp.tmp"
- the program now uses less CPU while waiting for the next update

- registry access fixed
- when minimized, the program is placed into the system tray
- An option is added for skipping frames out of an animation.
- The software now doesn't check continously if the screen capture file is updated, but 10 times per second.
- The software now only starts exporting if the screen capture file isn't opened for writing by other threads and/or programs to prevent corrupted bitmap files.

- screen capture function added

version 1.5.0 (16-08-2002):
