BSB is releasing a video of their "Around The World", a 90-minute documentary-style film which follows them on their 100 hour promotional tour will be released this spring. The video includes extensive coverage of media events on the ground in each city, exclusive footage of the Boys on their charted 757 jet, and even includes shots of the guys flying the plane! Look for
interviews and behind-the-scenes action all set to a non-stop bed of
Backstreet Boys music from "Black & Blue" and their previous two releases.
As an added bonus, "ATW" will include a live video of "SOMH," which combines five live performances from around the world into one never-before-seen exclusive video.
Also! BSB was nominated for "Favorite Group of the
Year - Overall" and "Favorite Group - Pop" at the 2001 Blockbuster
Entertainment Awards that aired yesterday (sorry we missed it, but will tell ya gow it went when we find out.)
BSB will perform at Nickelodeon's 14th Annual Kids' Choice Awards. The show airs live on Saturday, April 21 at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. And once again, Rosie O'Donnell will host the event, which takes place at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, CA. Howie, Kevin, and AJ were also on VH1 performing "Chain Of Fools" with Miss Aretha Franklin on "Diva's Live: The One & Only Aretha Franklin". I though they did a great job!

As you might have heard by now, on tour BSB treats their fans to a saucy wardrobe change as part of their new North American tour. The group kicked off their 36-date tour in Florida Jan. 22 and had a surprise in store as part of their 90-minute, 21-song set. The show-stopping moment came 10 songs into the set, when the group invited the audience to watch during one of their six wardrobe changes. The Boys, one by one, piled into a wardrobe trunk and disappeared beneath the stage. A backdrop doubling as a projection screen showed the group changing shirts. The group also fooled around with Silly String and had a water pistol fight, but they also got serious with THE ANSWER TO OUR LIFE. They sang the tune while a video played images of endangered owls, bald eagles and whales, scenes of pollution and old-growth forests being bulldozed.
BSB was greeted by booing and heckling when they sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl XXXV on Jan. 28. The guys attended the grand Super Bowl ceremony at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and were shocked when sections of the 100,000 crowd vented their anger that the group had been bestowed such an honor. Onlookers say that the five-piece band were not only upstaged by the half-time show featuring Britney Spears, Nelly, Mary J. Blige, Aerosmith, and their rivals 'Nsync, with the latter two teaming up for Aerosmith's classic "Walk This Way", but were even eclipsed by the pre game opening act the legendary Ray Charles performing "American The Beautiful". However, there was some comfort for the BSB hitmakers when the announcer who introduced them did so with the words, "The world's most successful singing group." (I (Shann) myself totally missed the half time show and even my brother who despises BSB said they did a great job performing!)
Also, AJ car has illegally tinted windows - because it's the only way he can escape fans when he's driving. He is well aware of his law-breaking preference but he's sure police in Florida will understand if they ever pull him over for sitting in the dark. He says, "If I get stopped I say, 'Look, this is who I am; if you still want to give me the ticket, that's fine but I'm doing this for my own protection.'" The need to protect himself is even greater now - as he has recently learned about an obsessive fan who plans to kill him and then herself in a bizarre ROMEO & JULIET-style pact with friends. He adds, "It's a pretty dangerous business I'm in, when you think about it. I'm singing pop music, I don't want to worry about some psycho girl." He's also installed top of the range security at his home - because he's terrified of falling victim to a crazed stalker. AJ lives within a gated community in a property guarded by a powerful laser defence system which, if triggered off, alerts the local police. He admits to being shaken up by the horrifying incident last year (00) in which ex-BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON was attacked by a stalker in his own home. He says, "You don't feel 100 per cent safe any more, that's why you've got security. There's some sick freaks in the world - besides me!' He uses an intricate system of cameras to track the whereabouts of girlfriend Amanda when they shared his waterfront apartment. Although he insisted he merely wanted to make sure she was safe while he was jetting the world with his record-breaking band he joked he also used the equipment to spy on his on-off partner to ensure she was in on time and hadn't brought any strange men into his home.
Despite their massive success, BSB are already preparing for their eventual split. The guys are all easing themselves into separate careers - with the exception of Kevin. AJ explains, "Well, Howie has his stuff, Nick wants to do stuff with his brother and I did the whole Johnny No-Name thing. We're all starting to ease into things, but we're not saying, 'Okay fellas, I'm gonna go and record my album next week while you guys go on tour'. Everyone's doing something that makes them happy. Kevin can't really do much of anything right now 'cause he's hurt his knee, but he's still enjoying things."
The boys also won TWO awards at the AMA's (Summer watched, I didn't) But congratulations anyway! ;)

NASHVILLE -- SFX is already rolling out the big guns for 2001, and they won't get much bigger than BSB's worldwide tour, projected to gross in excess of $250 million, Billboard magazine reports. SFX will produce the entire Black & Blue world tour, which will begin
stateside on Jan. 22, 2001 at the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise, Fla. Following an initial U.S. leg of stadiums and arenas, the tour will play Mexico and South America in April, Europe in May/June, and
U.S. stadiums through the summer. Then the tour goes international again, with shows in the Pacific Rim, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand on tap for October and November. The tour is of Rolling Stones proportions, not only in its global scope and mega-production values but also in the finances involved. "This is the richest touring deal in music

As BSB journey to Los Angeles to shoot the video for their upcoming single “The Call,” (which will be directed by Francis Lawrence) they want to thank their fans all over the world for making them the first group in music history to sell five million copies of an album in only one week. Tickets for the “Black & Blue World Tour” went on sale Saturday, December 2, and 23 of the 26 shows were instant sell-outs, with only a few seats available for the remaining shows. SFX, the promoter and producer of the tour, offered the following information: “It sold out faster than any stadium show I can remember,” Arthur Fogel, President of Touring, SFX Music Group (about the 42,000-seat Toronto Skydome show). “We sold ’em as fast as we could print ’em. The show sold out in five minutes,” Ted Mankin, regional head of SFX touring (about the MCI Center in Washington, DC).

Teeny bopper BACKSTREET BOY AJ McLEAN wants to collaborate with controversial rapper EMINEM. Yes, AJ seems to want to team up with Em to cut a Limp Bizkit influenced track under the name of his English alter- ego Johnny No-Name. He states; "Johnny could pull it off. I couldn't but Johnny could. Johnny has anger built up inside him as well. AJ? Nah. I'd be like, 'Hell no!' "I think it could work, if he would let it work. I could say 'til I'm blue in the face, 'Yo man, I wanna do a duet with you but not as a Backstreet Boy. I wanna do it with a Limp Bizkit kind of vibe.' He'd probably say yes, probably, maybe not - but you know what? Next time I see him I'm gonna ask him." Despite wanting to work with Em, AJ has made his opinions known concerning his work. Saying, "I think he's the way he is for image purposes. Nobody can be that cynical and that stupid-minded and that angry. Nobody can be that mad at life, and if they are why the hell tell the whole world about your own personal problems?" And talking of Eminem's controversial new single STAN, which depicts an obsessed music fan AJ comments, "He's not a good role model cause he's talking about killing his wife and chopping her up and putting her in the trunk of his car. That'd be like us talking about chopping up one of our fans and putting her in the back of our tour bus. It's not cool."..... No offense AJ.... but if Eminem actually hears about this... you may end up being his next target in a song.... Just to warn ya!
In other news, "Olive Juice" is supposed to come out in February. Starring Leighanne Wallace-Littrell, as well as bit parts of Brian and AJ. Brian being a carriage driver, and AJ a DJ. Also, there's a possibility that there will be a soundtrack to go with this movie. From what I understand "Perfect Fan" is on there, as well as the title song "Olive Juice" that Brian sings, and co-wrote...
BACKSTREET BOY star, BRIAN LITTRELL, refused to join his bandmates for a new ROLLING STONE magazine shoot - because a planned spread featuring naked models was against his principals. Instead, the newly-married pop superstar is photographed on his own while his four bandmates pose with the nude beauties - and Littrell says he'll never agree to appear in such pictures. The 25-year-old devoted Christian says, "I know the body is a work of art, but I'd rather not open myself to criticism. I understand we're a group, and we normally stand together, but there are going to be cases where I just can't disrespect myself and stoop to that level."
According to soundscan "Black and Blue" sold 1,591,191 albums in it's first week in the US. Topping the BillBoard charts.
And though BSB did not break N'sync's record for 2.4 million sales for their album "No Strings Attached" (shame) They can manage to claim an international record, because they did manage to sell 5 million records WORLD-WIDE. They can also lay claim to being the first act to ever sell more than one million albums in the first week with back-to-back albums!

On October 10th running until October 20th, BSB signed Gameboy Units for Auction, for the charity "Nite To Unite For Kids" which was also sponsored by Amazon.Com to benift the Boys & Girls club of America. Each of the winning bidders, also received an autographed picture of the Boys.
"Platinum Christmas" a cd filled with different pop artists singing Christmas songs arrives on November 14th. BSB is on this album with the song "Christmas Time".
The tracks for "Black & Blue" (which will be released Novemeber 21st) have been announced: "The Call", "Shape Of My Heart", "Get Another Boyfriend", "Shining Star", "I Promise You (With Everything I Am)", "The Answer To Our Life", "Everyone", "More Than That", "Time", "Not For Me", "Yes I Will", "It's True", and "How Did I Fall In Love With You".
BSB will launch their WORLD tour on January 28th, 2001 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It will start an 8-week North American run. After taking a two week break they will then hit Asia and Australia. They also plan to play Europe and South America before returning to the States for another six-week run.

Brian & Leighanne had a traditional candlelit ceremony held at the Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta on Saturday, September 2. According to a report in "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution," Wallace wore a gown by noted bridal designer Vera Wang, while the groom and his entourage wore charcoal gray suits and top hats (Still Find That Funny;). The paper reports that 300 guests, including all four Backstreet bandmates, attended the 35-minute media- and fan-free service, which was followed by a reception held on a reserved floor of the local Four Seasons Hotel. In a move that branded it a celebrity wedding, guests coming off the elevator were greeted by a sign that read "No photographs, no autographs."
BSB's Howie Plans Solo Benefit Shows: Howie will mark the second anniversary of his sister Caroline's death with two benefit shows in her memory. He'll perform in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 13 and Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Sept. 15 to benefit the Caroline Dorough-Cochran Lupus Foundation. The shows come on the heels of a June 25 Lupus 2000 benefit concert that saw Howie help raise more than $100,000 for the fight against the disease. Howie's sister Caroline died of lupus, an autoimmune disease, on Sept. 12, 1998, and the singer launched the foundation shortly thereafter. The nonprofit outfit supports lupus research, education, and financial assistance for individuals living with the disease who cannot afford treatment. "This disease took my sister from my family," Howie said in a statement announcing the shows. "It means the world to me to have friends, family, and the public to help find a cure for lupus. Hopefully, in the near future, a cure will be found and no other family will have to endure such a tragic loss as our family has endured." And while prepping for the solo shows, Howie is still maintaining his Backstreet duties, which include preparing for the November release of BSB's next album.
The group is planning to tour again starting in late February.

07/24/00 BSB Brian Littrell Reuntites With Stolen Dogs: Atlanta's amateur dognappers were no match for Brian Littrell, who was reunited with his pilfered pets over the weekend. Last week, two Chihuahuas belonging to Littrell and
fiancée, Leighanne, had been stolen from the couple's home outside Atlanta last Wed., apparently by two trespassing teenage girls (psychotic teenies).
A spokesperson for the search effort said that the missing dogs, Lil' Tyk Thomas & Litty Leigh, were recovered late Sun. night from separate locations in the Atlanta area. Both dogs were said to be nervous and hungry, but otherwise fine. Brian had just wrapped up recording sessions in Sweden, in time to launch a massive search effort. Supposedly Brian & Leighann drove to two different counties with law enforcement personnel to retrieve their missing pets after receiving a phone tip that apparently was made by one of the dognappers. While Lil' Tyk was recovered without incident, the younger Litty Leigh proved to be more of a problem when the woman in possession of the puppy didn't want to give her up. And yet it's still not clear exactly why the dogs were taken, the spokesperson said, as the women in question offered up several different stories. However Brian & Leighanne will not be pressing charges, as "they're just happy to have Tyk and Litty back."
Meanwhile, according to an interview with Howie in Swedish paper "Aftonbladet," the band recorded seven songs in that country with producer Max Martin, including "three up-beat, two half-calm songs and two ballads." Dorough told the publication that the album is half-finished.
BSB Brian Littrell Falls Victim To Dognapping!: Sad but true, two blonde
Chihuahuas belonging to Brian Littrell and fiancée, Leighanne Wallace, have been snatched from the couple's home near Atlanta. At press time, a spokesperson for the band confirmed that the couple's dogs, Lil' Tyk Thomas and Litty Leigh, were still missing. According to Brian, who called Atlanta radio station Star 94 on Friday morning to talk about the theft, the dogs were taken on Wed. apparently by two teenage girls (psychotic teenies) who trespassed onto the couple's property. There is
a "generous reward" being offered for the dogs' safe return. Anybody with any information with regard to the missing dogs is being asked to call Suzanne Lear or Kristi Clark at the Atlanta Police Department at 404-350-9212. (Please note that this is a toll call.)

Littrell stunned his fiance LEIGHANNE WALLACE by admitting that before the band's rise to fame his mother did all the cooking and cleaning. And since his chartbusting success Littrell has had a team of people around him to take care of his every need. So Wallace was shocked when the boyband member took out a vacuum at the couples Georgia, American home and began hovering to music "like it was a game." Wallace says, "Vacuuming is now Brian's favourite thing to do because his mum did it before he was famous and since he has been famous and he has never had to do it. Now he also loves to take the trash out because it is such a new thing for him. He looks at me and smiles and says, 'Oh I think I will take the trash out.'" "We have loads of help but I make him wash the cars. He goes, 'I am going to wash your wheels,' like it is a real big thrill."

BSB's Howie Remembers Sister With Benefit Concert Howie and his sisters Angie Haring and Pollyanna Dorough are organizing "Lupus 2000," a benefit concert in honor of their late sister.
And there is no firm line-up yet but AJ, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Deborah Cox, Leann Rimes, Jordan Knight, and Deborah Gibson, as well as Seal (who also suffers from Lupus) has also been asked to perform for the benefit. Howie and his sisters plan to perform a new song called "Fly to Heaven" in memory of their late sister. The show is scheduled to take place on June 25th at Universal Studios in Orlando. Howie's sister Caroline died in 1998 of Lupus, a chronic auto-immune disorder that affects the skin, joints and internal organs. They are making a single of "Fly To Heaven" and all the sales will go the Lupus Foundation- date unknown for release.
AJ and Amanda are NOT engaged.

Leslie's single is out June 6, she'll be on the Nickeloden 'All That' tour this summer for select dates.

In the coming-of-age film, he's expected to play a town bully who picks on a young boy gearing up for his bar mitzvah while dealing with the societal and cultural ramifications of growing up Jewish. Although no one has been officially cast in the film (the project is still in the developmental stage) the movie is expected to start shooting later this year.

BSB's AJ Goes Solo... Sort Of: Thay's Right, When BSBs' "Into The Millennium" North American tour ends Wednesday night in Toronto, AJ Continues On. Using The Pseudonym "Johnny No Name," AJ Will Kick Off His First Solo Tour in L.A. March 27, With Stops In Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., and New York. All shows will benefit VH1's "Save The Music" education program. The Hour-Plus Set Will Consist Of Material From 'Stone Temple Pilots' 'Eminem' to 'Brian McKnight's' "Back At One" and AJ's Own Composition "If You Knew What I Knew." His First Solo Gig Came Last Dec. When He Performed As "Johnny Suede" At The Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, But He Insists That All Things BSB Come Before Thoughts Of A Solo Album. April 11 BSB will drop by the Howard Stern radio show (just from prior viewing, any die-hard fans who think the boys should be up for saint-hood shouldn't watch. More likely than not, there will be talk about sex, one-night stands, negative sides of fame etc. and you'll find out how un-perfect and human they are. That's just how Howard Stern is. Don't say you weren't warned.)
AJ and Howie were at the Juno awards to except some awards. BSB's "Millennium" won a Juno for Best Selling Album (Foreign or Domestic). AJ & Howie thanked Canada for embracing the Boys before anyone else. "Canada was the first country to accept us with open arms," Dorough told reporters. "It will always have a special place in our hearts." Dorough and McLean -- who also took time out to confess they dig punk, trip-hop, maple syrup, and Canadian women -- told the media scrum that their next album will include more diverse musical elements. Congrats!

Also! Students Suspended For Seeing Backstreet Boys: That's right, a private school in San Antonio, TX apparently doesn't find clean-cut teen idols in BSB, or as wholesome as most folks do, as the institution suspended four of its students last week for seeing the group in concert. Three students at Sunnybrook Christian Academy served one-day punishments for going to the March 1 show at San Antonio's Alamodome, the mother of the fourth withdrew her son from the school. Sunnybrook Christian Academy maintains a policy against "involvement in inappropriate music [or] dancing," according to school administrator Trudie Perez. "Our conduct must be moral and upright 24 hours a day." Perez said on March 8. Students are expected to adhere to school regulations against such behavior as swearing and drinking even after the school bell has rung for the day, she said. This isn't the first time a Texas school has expressed its displeasure with popular music. "Inappropriate music would be anything that would promote values that would be contrary to Biblical values," Perez said. "We promote abstinence until marriage, so any music that would have any type of sexual content would be deemed inappropriate." In BSB's hit "Everybody" from their self-titled 1996 debut, asks, "Am I sexual?" And the song "If You Want to Be Good Girl (Get Yourself a Bad Boy)," from the same album, includes the lyrics, "If you really like it hot/ Get someone who hits the spot."

Anyone who will be attending any remaining Millennium tour concerts will be seeing Nicks girlfriend Mandy as the opening act. Willa, her stage name (after her last name I'm guesing, it was Mandah, she changed it) performs 2 songs, not including 'Lullaby' off the Pokemon soundtrack. Apparently puts on a heck of a show. She made her debut at last nights performance in St Petersberg (I think) concert and did great.
And Howie has landed a role in an upcoming HBO movie. Don't know any more

Alright, My (Shann's) Comments On The Grammy's. First Off I Did Not Like How Rosie Hosted It. I've Seen Her TV Show A Few Times, Wish She'd Stay There. & I Did Wish BSB Would Have Gotten At Least One Award, But A Lot Of Disappointment Came With This Show. I Was Rooting For Kid Rock For "Best New Artist" & Was Quite Upset When One Of The New Barbies Got It. But For An Artist To Get Such An Award So Quickly Like I Was Reminded, Is Basically 'The Kiss Of Death.' I Liked Few Performances Though; Will Smith's, Sting, Carlos Santana & Rob Thomas, Whitney Houston's, Kid Rock's, & The Kids Playing Jazz. I Disliked Ever Other Performance, Including Both Of BSB's. In My Personal Opinion, I Know They Could Have Done Better. Ms. Spears Looked Like A Giant Pink Peacock In Her Performance, & I Dunno There Just Has To Be Something Wrong With Nick & Award Shows. I Don't Know If He Has A Stylist Or Not That Does That To Him. If He Does, Fire 'Em, If You Don't, Hire One. Also, I am Getting Tired Of Seeing The Award Shows Now, Everyone Dressing Up, Most Guys Looking Quite Queerish (no offense to ANYONE) & The Females Look Like Sluts, Is There A Possible Way To Prevent This? Ok, I am NOT making excuses for the BSB for not meeting with Morgan (that's her name). But you have to realize there are two sides to every story. The BSB (as do most celebrities) receive literally thousands of requests to meet with people, through Make-a-wish or other organizations, and they just don't have time to do it all. And I know that sounds callous, and I truly don't mean it to. I know a lot of these cases are terminal and it's a dying wish, but it's a lose-lose situation. If they did all the requests (even an hour of their time) it'll get taken from somewhere. Fewer concerts, less recording time, no interviews, which I know seems trivial in comparison, but they are only human and are doing, in my opinion, the best they can. And also, the BSB were honored by the Make-a wish foundation for 1999 as the outstanding celebrity wish-makers. Like I said, I don't mean to trivialize death or to make excuses, but I truly think they are doing the best they can dealing with fans.

Did all of you see Nick and
Aaron on ET yesterday?? That was honestly one
of the sweetest things. They were genuinely
happy to see each other and it was just
great.

for a rant. Brians ex-gf Samantha
Stonebreker (mentioned in the thank you of
the first 2 albums, blonde chick washin' the
car in the WGIGO video) and AJ's ex, Marissa
Jackson (Johnny and Donna's daughter) are
both writing tell-all books about there
relationships. Why are they doing this? Money
and revenge. The sad thing is, the people are
going to buy these books because these woman
were part of these guys lives for 3 and 5
years respectively, and have lots of gossip.
Is it right, no. But I didn't think Mrs.
Carter writing a book was right either. Are
other ex-BSB lovers going to write tell-alls,
maybe. If fans buy them, why wouldn't they?
Fans are always complaiing about being too
much into the guys personal lives, this is
the ultimate betrayal by people they trusted.

Well, I (Summer) didn't watch
the
MTV thing on Thursday, don't think Shann did
either, (*Shann* I
did) but for anyone else who missed
it, they were shooting the video for "Larger
than Life" Its directed by Joseph Kahn
"Backstreet Back" and it's a space age sorta
thing with alot of scenes filmed with a green
screen and props flown in from across the
country and the dancers are supposed to be in
it to. It'll be on MTV sometime in September
(my guess would be around September 9th since
they'll be in NY for the video awards, they
could premier it in person)

of the "Into the Millenium" tour are posted
on sites and it sounds like the tour is gonna
be the boys biggest venture. Flying on
surfboards, harness flying over the audience
and playing 10 of the 12 songs off of
"millenium". Which not only is STILL the #1
album, but broke Garth Brooks record from
most albums sales in one week!
Nick FINALLY got the guts to
get a tattoo. Not sure of when, but sometime
between the millenium release and tour. Well,
